- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
With Grooming, prices are always tricky. The Pet, the size, the condition, how far the location is, what supplies and equipment I will need, Is the Pet difficult to groom, Is the Pet matted are all considerations! Basic/Standard prices are $12.00 to $25.00 for a bath, (again this depends on size and breed and condition), blow-dry, pads cleaned and ears cleaned. We will run specials and give discounts to new clients most of the time on their second visit. We also offer customer referral programs to new client's. Basic Standard Groom Job: $12.00 to $65.00 in most cases. Again it depends on a lot of factors. In person quotes are most preferred. On the Phone estimates are only as good as the information given. It has been my experience that some parents do not give enough detail and then when we arrive, sometimes the prices must go up because of condition of the pet or mats.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I use the internet, I will actually go to places and watch other Groomers to see if they are doing things that I don't do or haven't done yet. The Internet is a great place for me to keep up with things, especially visiting others sites.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
By watching a friend of mine groom. also, I LOVE animals and what a great way to make money and have fun. BTW, I personally own SIX ANIMALS, love them all!
