I have been training with Ricky for a little over 3 years now. When I started with him I was 10 months post-op from having an L5-S1 Anterior Lumbar Fusion (back surgery). For ten years I had issues with my back, throughout my entire 20's I felt like I had the body of an unhealthy 80 year old. I was in pain all the time. I could not exercise or do most things people my age were doing without "paying for it" during the following weeks. I had heard about Ricky from some friends and they all spoke of him very highly. I was very skeptical about training because of my history with back pain, but eventually I was talked into at least giving it a try. The first time I worked out with Ricky, we talked extensively about my concerns and about my surgery. He developed a program to help me strengthen my core to help support my back and lessen the pain. When I started I couldn't run more than a couple of minutes, could barely squat 85 lbs. more than once and was still dealing with back pain. Within 6 months of training with Ricky I was running 2 miles, squatting 225 lbs 10 times and I no longer had back pain 24/7. Due to a new job and hectic travel schedule, I had to take a 10 month hiatus from the gym. However, I've since returned to the gym and part of that decision was due to that "sneaky" back pain I felt returning. Since being back in the gym the last 3 months, I am doing things I never thought possible. I am already up to running 3 miles every workout and I feel great. My strength is also returning rapidly. Training with Ricky was one of the best decisions I ever made, he has changed my life! People workout with trainers for all different reasons, I chose to do it because I wanted to take control of my body and be pain free. Ricky Jackson helped me achieve this goal. In addition, working out has helped to increase my self-esteem and confidence in my abilities.

When it comes to reaching your full potential of physical fitness Coach Jackson will help you to reach and obtain your desired goals. He improved my 40yd dash from 4.72 to 4.41, with speed and strength drills that are second to none. Regardless of your sport or profession his knowledge is on point. Coach Jackson helped me to obtain all American status in college while also being in top shape playing in Europe. I would not put my physical conditioning in another coaches hands. Ricky is not only a talented PT but also a truly nice guy. He comes backed by a very impressive CV and a lengthy client list. It's also beyond mentally satisfying (great cardio and strength exercise as well) to take some jabs at the heavy or the speed bag. Hank's gym is a welcome change from the slate of chain clubs. Old fashioned and no nonsense yet fully equipped and beyond welcoming. Susan M (Los Angeles, CA and part time - Houston, TX)

I absolutely love my self defense classes with Ken! What i find most helpful is that Ken's lessons are very personalized. I am a petite woman and Ken teaches me how to use my size to my advantage. I went to about a dozen gyms all over Houston (MMA/Krav Maga/Jiu Jitsu/etc) and Ken is the only person that could offer me everything that i needed/wanted. (1) He works around my crazy schedule (2) Personalized training that is AFFORDABLE (3) Preparing me not just physically, but also mentally (4) Providing me personalized techniques - example: there is a technique he showed me to free yourself from someone that is choking you, unfortunately my arms just wouldn't reach. He realized this almost immediately and changed the technique right then and there. Within 5 minutes we had a modified move and i was breaking choke holds. (5) Real world application - example: he teaches body language, so you can better assess when an attack is coming. I told him a get nervous walking to my car, he taught me how to use my keys as a weapon! How to defend myself in a small area (like if someone comes up to me in between 2 cars). (6) Gets you out of your comfort zone - I have never hit a person and didn't realize how uncomfortable it would be to do so. I felt silly and weak throwing a punch. Literally by the second class all of those feelings were gone. I've only been training for about a month and my punches are awesome! You can literally see the strength i've gained in such a short amount of time. I feel like this post is getting long, but seriously i cannot stress how great these lessons are. I genuinely think anyone would benefit from these lessons. Its not only a great work out (you will be sore) but its also a great confidence booster. I feel so much safer just doing things that would normally have me worried (ex: walking to my car at night when i work late/late night runs to the grocery store). If you are serious about self defense, take his classes. He operates out of a gym that has great people, great environment, and everything you need to train.

As an absolute beginner, and having sifted through dozens of potentially gifted albeit incredibly boring instructors, I finally settled on Ken Eaton. The efficiency and care with which he passes his vast knowledge is unmatched, and his lessons are also outrageously fun. Ken possesses a lifetime of real world knowledge and experience in application and that is a serious consideration if you're aim is to learn self defense. There is no belt system, no memorization of complex poses, simply a raw and very genuine understanding of the biomechanics of fighting or defending yourself/loved ones with a degree of startling devastation. This guy is the real deal, if you've found his profile then you needn't look any further! Click that hire button and you may enjoy noticing just what you've been missing.

Mr. Eaton is an amazing self defense instructor. He was very patient with me in the beginning, and I am amazed by my improvements thus far. As a petite girl, he taught me how to defend myself with specific techniques and I now feel comfortable living on my own in college. I would definitely recommend him to my friends.

I am writing this to let the world know of one of the greatest person I have had the pleasure of coming across the gym in the many years of working out. Who am I talking about, William Nguyen, aka better known as Will of course. I have known Will for many years now, I met him at the 24 Fitness located in Diary Ashford, in Houston Texas. I remembered Will coming to the 24hr Fitness as a personal trainer, he was always focus on his task at hand, which was training his client. He caught my attention, because if how focus and determine he was in making sure the client was well trained. Believe me when I say, " Those are hard, and far in between to find in many personal trainers that I have observed in the many years of working out. " Will is very dedicated to his training, and I have seen him grow as a person, and trainer. Will has never change is way of taking care of his clients, he just continued to get better at his job. Will takes is training seriously, he has recently taken his training, and body to a new level. He is now competing and doing an excellent job at it. I see nothing but greatness for this young man, he is one of a kind. I would not hesitate to hire Will to train me. He is worth more than I can put in words. If you don't believe a word I say, check him out for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Will Power Fitness.

I've always had a problem with my form with squat due to my long legs and lack of others knowledge in trying to teach me. This trainer was very professional and he knew exactly what he was doing. He corrected my mistakes and motivated me to train even harder. I am very grateful for him because sooner or later I could've gotten hurt really badly trying to squat heavy weight. I also had a blast working out with as well. I'd definitely will continue this journey with him.

I have studied with John Peek for the last 2-3 years in the Haganah self defense system. I have been involved in the martial arts for a number of years and find John's teaching methodology and Haganah system to be the answer to my self defense development that the traditional styles lacked. John's emphasis on learning these very effective techniques for the right reasons and applications is central to his teaching culture. He also places great emphasis on partner preservation which minimizes injury without detracting from the real life aspects of applying the techniques. I highly recommend Houston Haganah to anyone interested in learning reality based self defense in a wholesome, safe environment taught by a top notch instructor and human being.

I am now 36 years old and have always been interested in Martial Arts. But I was looking for a system that would have REAL WORLD applicability, something that I could apply immediately. Haganah was the answer. The atmosphere is not intimidating and VERY constructive. It is full of real people who just want to protect themselves and their families. The owner and Head Instructor (John) is extremely knowledgeable in his craft yet very humble. He has a great way of delivering the material so that everyone understands. So if your think about training in Martial Arts or Self-defense or even physical fitness I would encourage you to call Haganah Houston and try it for yourself.

I have worked with John for nearly two years as a student of his Haganah Houston School. John is an outstanding martial artist and instructor. He is well versed in the traditional martial arts as well as the modern 'reality based' systems such as Krav Maga and Haganah. He is a sincere and genuine good guy who is eager to teach and a generous mentor. He understands that while learning self-defense is important, training-partner preservation and faith in God are even more so. If you are looking for a great learning environment with a skilled mentor, Haganah Houston is the place.

I joined Texas Coast Karate (at the time of this writing) about three months ago. I knew nothing of martial arts beyond what I had seen in movies. Master Boozer was incredibly welcoming, and he was quite excited to begin teaching me, an excitement I saw again with more students who have joined since I began. I started with the primary intention of getting myself in shape. I have a hard time exercising when I don't have something to keep my mind occupied and working at the same time, and Tang Soo Do has provided many challenges to accommodate that. In the short time I've been training, I've learned many simple but highly useful techniques, as well as history behind and practical uses for them in modern day self defense. What I also found was that all of the students at Texas Coast Karate exude the same welcoming quality of Master Boozer, making this an extremely friendly, almost family-like environment. Everyone is incredibly encouraging, and they are more than willing to let me learn at my own pace, answer questions I have, and congratulate me on a job well done. I highly recommend Texas Coast Karate to anyone who's interested in learning self defense, or anyone who, like me, just needs a group of friends to keep them on a consistent fitness program.

Master Wayne Boozer is an excellent instructor with an amazing personal touch rarely seen in these circles. He also runs his academy with extreme professionalism and efficiency. He is an accomplished forth dan instructor, incredible coach and leader, and a friend. He adapts his style of teaching to the needs of each student and there is quite a variety in our class. If you are looking to get fit, learn self-defense, gain some discipline in life, Texas Coast Karate is the place for you. I wholeheartedly recomend it and I'm sure if you try it you will be back!

Texas Coast Karate has been a great place to relieve stress and regain that sense of empowerment over your life. I admire the energy, creativity and dedication that SBN Boozer pours into his classes as well as his students. Definitely has the positive energy flow throughout the school as well as in the students. Also has been a place to build character and emphasize values.

My name is Eileen, and I moved from Ireland to Trinidad & Tobago in September 2015. As anyone knows moving to a new job & country comes with a certain degree of stress and pressure. Having led an active fitness routine in Ireland and gaining 6 pounds in my first 3 months in Trinidad, I was becoming very frustrated with both myself and trying to find a gym and trainer that I could feel comfortable with. It was also necessary that I find one that would fit in with my very hectic work schedule. I was recommended Lenny (Lenworth) in March 2016, and scheduled in my 1st class with him immediately. Since then I have been training with him approx 2 to 3 times a week. Despite the fact that my work involves long hours with lots of travel outside of Trinidad, he made every effort to accommodate and fit me at all times despite some last minute requests from me. From Day 1, he worked on building up my strength, pushed me hard but never to the point where it was not safe and always paid close attention to ensuring I was using all of the equipment and weights correctly. This is something that he excelled in. He also demonstrated to me the importance of stretching at the end of each class (something I had never really done before). After 3 months, I have seen such an improvement in my body shape, I have toned up and best news of all I have lost those additional pounds and my clothes are now fitting me again. My confidence, strength and energy is back. He also taught me the importance of eating well and recommended the type of foods to eat for my body shape and lifestyle. To say that I am going to miss Lenny when he moves to his new life in Texas is an understatement. He is without doubt one of the most professional, good humored and experienced trainer I have every worked with. Nothing is every a hassle with Lenny and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He will change your life.

Lenny worked over a period of about six months with our 12-year old son, we'll call him "Frank," a hyper-articulate but irresponsible ADHD kid whose favorite physical activity is mousing with his right hand while snacking with his left, and who previously resolutely resisted all attempts to engage him in sports or exercise. Lenny realized that if he engaged Frank's brain, his body would follow. Lenny made the training sessions fun (in part, by patiently and attentively listening to Frank’s passions of the day) so that Frank looked forward to them, and even took some responsibility for being ready to start on time. The training focused on core strength and karate kata. Physically, we saw Frank's ability to move increase markedly over time, going from a slumping lumber to movements that approached grace. Mentally and emotionally, Frank developed a strong desire to live up to Lenny’s expectations and take responsibility for his own nutrition and physical activity. I don’t know how we will find someone else with Lenny’s patience, humor, and calm discipline to play a similar role in Frank’s life, but I believe Lenny’s work over the past six months has awakened in Frank a sense of self-discipline and responsibility that will continue to develop. Having tried ourselves to begin that awakening, we cannot be more appreciative of what Lenny has accomplished in this short time period. Our only regret is that we couldn’t find the time for Lenny to be our trainer too.

Lenny uses a mixture of humour and persuasion to get me exercising. Despite my protests I understand what he is trying to do and there is no doubt that my fitness levels and core strength have increased. Thanks Lenny!

I only attended one class, and have/had to skip the following two weeks due to some a business isues. I intend to return ASAP, From just one hours time in his class; I can say Sifu Alex Wallenwein; is a very fine teacher, with great knowledge to share. He teaches with conviction and passion for his thr art; but with the patience of a real and true teacher. I am 44 years old (soon to be 45) and merely wanted to get back into shape learjing a fascinating and usefull set of skills and art, hAlbert Einstein once said: “The hardest task it to be a teacher. Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty.”

Sifu Alex is a very experienced, full-fledged fighting Sifu! If you want to learn the real science of WT and can eat bitter, there is no one else around who can teach you better. I've spent years around other martial arts, and honestly have only met one other man whom I'd even compare to Sifu Alex in terms of his fighting ability. Every principle is completely internalized in him. He moves WT, in a way he is WT, having made it his own.

The owner, the instructors, the more intimate class size leads to an environment conducive to developing quickly within the discipline and general fitness. It's a place you will be pushed out of your comfort zone, the ambience is that of a typical nascent martial arts gym on the come up. If you want fancy and flashy, look elsewhere. If you want to take your training seriously and get the attention from small class sizes and you are willing to give your hardest effort, I believe this is the place to progress quickly and intelligently. The intellectual capital and sum of experience available amongst the instructors is commensurate with any high level gym and the humility and welcoming atmosphere exceeds them.

I am a former marine with eight years of experience in weapons and tactics. Many people think self-defense is the hand-to-hand combat between yourself and another person. My position is that knowing your surroundings and having a mindset that you will not put yourself at risk, will many times deter an attack from happening, and if an attack does occur with my instruction, you will be able to prevent harm to yourself or another.
