FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We don’t require upfront payment for tax preparation — our prep fees are deducted directly from your refund once your return is filed. To manage risk on platforms like Thumbtack, we charge a small estimate fee (typically $50–$75) that covers the cost of reviewing your documents and providing a personalized quote. That fee is credited toward your final prep cost if you move forward. The only exceptions are amendment filings or cases where taxes are owed, which require upfront payment.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a consultation and an estimate session ($50–$75) to review your documents and run them through our tax software. This ensures accuracy and protects both sides. If you move forward, that fee is applied to your final prep cost, which is deducted from your refund once your return is filed. This process keeps things transparent, minimizes risk, and makes it easy for you to get started without large upfront costs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We’ve completed extensive training in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and credit building, and we operate using IRS-compliant tax software (TaxSlayer). We also coach and mentor other tax professionals, which keeps us sharp and up-to-date on best practices and strategies.
