FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing system. However, I've learned face to face contact with client's along with detailed no pressure quotes are the best way demonstrate the value of what I offer while keeping competitors unaware of that standard pricing. In short, we're not the cheapest up front. We will never under size a system or use inferior components just to make a sale. In the long run, my system costs less and perform better day after day when compared to those systems designed to fail and require constant (revenue producing) service.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New clients are usually referred by an existing client, or Thumbtack. We start with a free on-site water analysis. While there, we discuss client's water quality concerns and budget constraints before offering a low pressure written quote detailing each of the state-of-the-art components that comprise the water treatment system tailored to the water chemistry. Once the client decides, we schedule the next available day for installation. After installation, we offer preventative maintenance, service as needed, or client self-service training options. Long term clients enjoy unparalleled service and systems that out perform competitors 2 to 1. That's why we are Houston's #1 provider of water treatment systems and service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As owner of American Water Doctors I first obtained a Water Treatment Plant Operators License in California. Then I went on to study for and obtain a Water Distribution Operators License. To obtain those licenses I studied at California State University, Sacramento and passed separate exams offered only to individuals with a qualifying combination of education and experience. Upon moving to Texas, I applied for and was granted (via reciprocity) a Water Operators License. As a sole proprietor, I spend countless hours working directly with manufacturers to stay current with new technology offerings as well as standards and procedures for servicing all manufacturers. Because of my experience, I also consult for and sub-contract with other water treatment companies. Knowing what options are available and what competitors are offering helps me deliver the premier product at the most affordable price.
