Introduction: Proper technique starting with the foundation of breathing is fundamental in my studio. I hold one recital a year where my students look forward to sharing their work and musical growth. I work with students ages seven to adult with a variety of goals ranging from simply wanting to sing better to preparing for shows, performances, auditions and competitions. I specialize in the following styles: Classical, Musical Theater, Jazz, and Church music (classical and contemporary). I have also coached students interested in Country and Pop. Additionally, I have worked and continue to work with all voice parts from Soprano to Bass. Currently, I teach 30 minute (12 and younger) and one-hour (13 and older) lessons and I make a great effort to create an encouraging, stress-free environment. I prefer for lessons to be paid monthly at the start of the month but will work with families who would rather pay from week to week. I look forward to meeting and singing with you very soon!

Ms. Amy is wonderful! She has a pleasant demeanor and my daughter loves singing with her and for her. She's had 2 lessons and is excited about coming back each week. I highly recommend the Sharon Voice Studio for anyone looking to enjoy learning how to sing properly.

Amy taught me voice lessons for almost a year, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She has an incredible voice, and helps students develop their voices to their full potential. She pushes you out of your comfort zone in the best way possible and encourages you to do your best. I have had voice lessons before, but her methods of teaching are some of the very best I've had. I would recommend her to anyone. She knows how to meet students needs of learning at any level. Whether you're just beginning to sing or are experienced and need to brush up your skills- she's the one! Thanks Amy for always being professional, kind, and an incredible voice teacher!

Amy helped me with my confidence or lack thereof. I took voice lessons with her for two years that seemed to fly by. She let me take my time and work up the courage to sing with passion. She did so much more than help me sing, she gave confidence boosts whenever I needed them. She does a great job at really teaching the songs and all the little parts that make up the whole piece. I would not have changed a thing about voice lessons with her!

Amy is absolutely wonderful! I was not blessed with the talent of singing but with my pursuit of theater it was necessary to learn. Amy is so patient and thorough in how she teaches. She is creative and will use different techniques that are best for the individual student and takes the time to explain things in a way they will understand. She is a great teacher and a wonderful woman. I highly recommend Amy to anyone considering voice lessons.

During my time competing with TMEA (Texas Music Educators Assn) and TPSMEA (Texas private school Music Educators Assn) Amy was a huge part in helping me to reach my goal of placing in both the TMEA and TPSMEA All State Chior's. Not only is Amy highly qualified to teach on basic and experienced levels, but she purposes to go above and beyond. On a personal level she's always taking the time to listen to the heart and goals of the student and with her experience pushes them to be better than they thought they could be. She makes singing fun! Because of her love for music and desire to better people through singing I would most definitely recommend her!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1-hour lesson: $60 (students 13 and older) 30-minute lesson: $30 (students 12 and younger) $10 per accompaniment recording $1 per warm-up recording I require one months payment of lessons to be paid in full at the beginning of the month. I also offer discount packages for paying bi-monthly, quarterly, and bi-yearly!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always learning from fellow colleagues and music friends! I take voice lessons myself and am always on the lookout for new and exciting warm-ups and vocal techniques. Many of these fellow "music friends" are members of the Houston Grand Opera and various other prestigious music organizations in Houston and abroad.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After winning numerous competitions in Jr. High and High School, it seemed the natural route for me to take -- to major in Music with an emphasis on Vocal Performance! I had a somewhat traumatic experience with I was 8 with a music teacher who embarrassed me in front of a whole choir and I vowed I would never sing again. My mom never pushed me but always encouraged me to do what I love. One year later, my younger sister was auditioning for a choir and when the director walked in with a HUGE smile and the most kind demeanor, she asked which one of us was going to go first and *I* raised my hand! I've been singing ever since. My goal is ALWAYS to encourage and to NEVER tear down! Constructive criticism is the route I take to better myself and my students.
