Who is Jason?
My passion for cooking began in the third grade when my mother signed me up for an after-school cooking class. In Santa Fe, New Mexico, I had the opportunity to begin my culinary career as the assistant manager for Cookworks.
I ventured out on my own as a personal chef and caterer after moving back to Texas in 2001. After a few short years, this evolved into a restaurant and a to-go food store with wines, cheeses, and pastries.
In 2008, I jumped at the opportunity to further my career and move to Houston to become the culinary manager for Sur la Table. I was the head of the cooking class program in River Oaks and enjoyed teaching many classes. Later, I became the food service director for a private school in Houston, where I feed 800 students daily with a concentration of farm to table.
I am excited to return to my roots by starting Jason Cooks! I provide a personal chef service.
I live in Katy with my wife, Lauren, and our four children.
