Very disappointed, where to begin.... We bought a 4000 sf home built in the 80's and their inspection was less than 2 hours. When the inspection for the home that we sold that was half the size and built in the past few years took 4-5 hours. They were not very thorough. They only inspected 1 water heater when there were 2. Didn't note the other water heater on the report and didn't even know it was there. It was in a walk in garage attic with stairs going into the attic which tells me they didn't even go up there. With the business they are in they should be aware that a home that size may have two water heaters. Also, if anything is wrong with our roof in the garage attic we have no idea because they never took the time to go up there. Once we moved in and realized we had no hot water to half the house we called a plumber. The water heater was a huge fire hazard because the burner was not protected and had to be replaced immediately. The plumber said, I should call my inspector because there is no reason this shouldn't have been caught and I should ask to be reimbursed. I called the inspectors not even asking them to reimburse me for the water heater but just to refund me for what I paid them since this should have been caught and if caught the seller would have had to replace it not me. I was just asking for a portion of what it cost me in the end. Their response was that I bought a big home and that they are just poor home inspectors and that I have the money so they don't owe me anything and hung up on me. They've ignored my calls since. Very rude and didn't want to take any responsibility and said their inspection is only good for that day. They both admitted that her husband never saw the hazardous water heater that needed to be replaced but that didn't matter to them. It was my fault and not theirs. Also, when we moved in and turned on the utilities and water with-in the first few days we also had the water softener flood the yard, a leak under the sink in one of the upstairs bathrooms that leaked into the room below and the heater (furnace) went out upstairs. All which I think could have been prevented me making the repairs if they had been caught along with other items. Worst experience I've ever had with a home inspector and even worse was their attitude after the fact. Money comes and goes but their attitude hanging up on me and not wanting to work with me in anyway and taking no responsibility for what their business stands for is what bothers me the most. I never write anything bad about anyone and hate to do this but it's the truth and them hanging up on me is what pushed me to this.
