After hearing my 10 year old niece on the piano I decided to take lessons at 40+. I found Joshua who is not only a talented pianist, but an amazing instructor. Joshua incorporates different teaching methods, including demonstrating pieces I would be playing, allowing me to video the piece to replay when i practice, and verbal instructions on how to practice at home. He's very patient. He breaks things down so it's interesting, and not overwhelming. I started playing basic chords and melodies right away. He also incorporates music theory so there is a deeper understanding of music. I highly recommend him.

Joshua’s strong emphasis on music theory coupled with some historical facts about the music and composer made piano lessons more interesting and fun for this older beginner.

I have been taking piano lessons from Joshua Vigran for about three years now, and he has been an excellent teacher for all of them. I think he strikes a good balance between being friendly and informative, which makes the lessons all the more effective.
