Moore Than Air (Lubbock)'s reply
This response is for the reader that would like full transparency on this misleading review and misinformed homeowner. 1) Moore Than Air does not sell parts. We sell services. 2) Gary G. was informed of the price for each service before we proceeded. 3) Gary had every chance to decline the repairs before we completed the work and we would have simply charged for the service call fee. He then could have taken out diagnosis to shop around for another company to do the same repairs/services we were offering to get his HVAC system back up and running, or he could have attempted to do the repairs himself. 4) A claim of “Overcharged on parts by 300%” is irrelevant due to the fact that we did not sell Gary G. any parts. We sold him services (which included the parts). 5) Most companies in the area charge far more than we do, based on an equivalent service (with far cheaper parts). For example, the average service price to replace a dual run capacitor by a licensed HVAC contractor is between $180-$350. That’s an average price of $265 for a simple dual run capacitor. That service also rarely comes with any warranty (1-2 years (if any)), because the capacitor on an HVAC system is the most common thing to fail, and most companies use cheap capacitors that cost around $20. Considering the average cost of $20 for a cheap, basic, dual-run capacitor, and the average service price of $265 to have a licensed HVAC contractor install that capacitor, that would be calculated at over 1,300% of a charge for that service (if we use Gary G.’s method for calculating what he was charged on “parts”). * Yes, you can quickly google and confirm all of these numbers based on the average over-the-counter price of an A/C dual-run capacitor from Home Depot or any HVAC supply house, and the average service price to have an A/C dual-run capacitor installed by a licensed and insured HVAC contractor in the area. 6) We installed a Turbo200X on Gary G.’s condenser, and also had to add a start assist (Turbo Easy-Start). The compressor would not run without both of these parts installed correctly. Both the Turbo200X and the Turbo Easy-Start costs us around $100/each. We charged Gary G. $350 for the Turbo200X and $325 ($375 with a $50 discount) for the Turbo Easy-Start. This is where Gary G. is claiming we overcharged him by 300%… We also give a 5 year warranty on the American-Made Turbo capacitors that we provide and install. This labor warranty for the installed part matches the part warranty that the manufacturer give for these specific high-quality, high-dollar parts. This far exceeds any warranty given by any other company that installs cheaper parts (if the other companies give any warranty at all on capacitors). So, considering most companies charge around 1,000% or more (compared to only the cost of the part) to provide the services that we provided Gary G., and rarely give any warranty at all (usually 1-2 years (if any)), it’s honestly insulting that Gary G. feels overcharged or would imply that we are, in any way, dishonest as a company. Please do your research before leaving a misleading and misinformed review, and always call around for other quotes if you ever feel like you’re being overcharged BEFORE you approve and pay for services provided by professionals. Thank you, Moore Than Air
