FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It depends on the project. I sometimes price by the hour, sometimes by the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to learn as much as I can about my client's business or brand. I ask questions and familiarize with your company through company literature, their website, profiles and social networking posts (if available). This helps me get a better picture of what the company is about, its focus, who their market is, what distinguishes what they offer from their competitors, the tone they wish to project. I help my clients establish deadlines and milestones if you don't already have them, and I aim for clear and honest communication with you and your associates. Sometimes I provide direction and help beyond the scope of writing, and I'm often able to help with design-related issues, publicity, conceptualizing, marketing strategies, business proposals, and research.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Journalism, with a minor in Marketing, I have worked for advertising agencies, public relations firms, retail store chain advertising departments, completed photography and commercial and industrial photography courses, and I have some graphic design experience. I wrote and edited an employee newsletter for a major corporation for many years, was the owner and publisher of a monthly magazine for 19 years, and a freelance copywriter for over 15 years. I've created WordPress websites, and prepared and uploaded content to CMS platforms such as WordPress and SquareSpace. I'm an author of an eBook, which I both wrote and formatted for Amazon Kindle.
