Line By Line

Introduction: In the past, I have worked privately as a Court Reporting Transcription Proofreader on both criminal and civil transcripts for Brazos County court reporters for about four years. I have also written about seven or eight plays a couple of which have won local awards, so I am used to editing dialogue material. I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas (Class of '74), with a minor in English and worked as a temporary Proofreader of Flight Manuals for Continental Airlines in Houston before returning to Bryan (where I grew up) in 1991. I am now married and live with my wife in Mumford, about ten miles southwest of Hearne, Texas. I am always happy to meet with an author or scriptwriter to look over their manuscript or dialogue transcript and give them my professional opinion of their work. I have to consider the project and the reasons for it, working one-on-one to determine if I can and should prepare an original document for the client, ghostwrite or if he or she really just needs help in finding the right direction to continue writing on their own. Clients are requested to provide a proof copy of either notes for the project or a copy of the original document, itself, so that it can be marked for editing. Rates vary, but I can only accept and examine hard copies of documents from the author and from no one else, except an authorized representative or agent on his or her behalf. Sorry, I cannot accept scripts or documents on computer disks or emailed to me. However I can be contacted, either at my email address or by phone, to arrange a meeting. Once that is done, I will do whatever I can to bring the work to fruition and to transfer the imagination and skill of the author to the page.
