Swimming has been a fun activity I always wanted to do but I felt very uncomfortable any time I was near a pool. This summer, however, learning how to swim was on top of my priority list and Thomas was there to change my perspective I see the water. From the very first lesson, the focus was on the mechanics and strength building. He can really focus on you and determine what skill you need to build and in what order. With only two swimming lessons completed, I already feel the confidence and the motivation to continue. Thomas demonstrates safe and very effective teaching techniques that are very easy to grasp and follow. As a beginner of any sort of swimming, I perceive Thomas to be an outstanding swimming instructor and a fine professional to work with. I always have fun learning and practicing in the pool, and I highly recommend anyone to take his classes regardless of swimming level. Pano Dimos
I have been working with Alex for just a little while, two weeks, but I had good reasons to choose him as my personal trainer (I met two trainers before deciding on Alex). First, he is very serious about his job and dedicated. Second, working full time as a trainer gives him the chance to perfect his style and fully dedicate to his training sessions and clients. Third, I like the fact that he is quiet and focused on training. I find his style pretty unique, a combination of strength, stretching, gymnastics, and yoga. Also, I had many questions and not only he answered every one with patience but with knowledge as well. If there is something that I really do not like is when I get an answer that lacks knowledge. I am looking forward to a good long training relationship.keep up the good job Alex!
I absolutely love my self defense classes with Ken! What i find most helpful is that Ken's lessons are very personalized. I am a petite woman and Ken teaches me how to use my size to my advantage. I went to about a dozen gyms all over Houston (MMA/Krav Maga/Jiu Jitsu/etc) and Ken is the only person that could offer me everything that i needed/wanted. (1) He works around my crazy schedule (2) Personalized training that is AFFORDABLE (3) Preparing me not just physically, but also mentally (4) Providing me personalized techniques - example: there is a technique he showed me to free yourself from someone that is choking you, unfortunately my arms just wouldn't reach. He realized this almost immediately and changed the technique right then and there. Within 5 minutes we had a modified move and i was breaking choke holds. (5) Real world application - example: he teaches body language, so you can better assess when an attack is coming. I told him a get nervous walking to my car, he taught me how to use my keys as a weapon! How to defend myself in a small area (like if someone comes up to me in between 2 cars). (6) Gets you out of your comfort zone - I have never hit a person and didn't realize how uncomfortable it would be to do so. I felt silly and weak throwing a punch. Literally by the second class all of those feelings were gone. I've only been training for about a month and my punches are awesome! You can literally see the strength i've gained in such a short amount of time. I feel like this post is getting long, but seriously i cannot stress how great these lessons are. I genuinely think anyone would benefit from these lessons. Its not only a great work out (you will be sore) but its also a great confidence booster. I feel so much safer just doing things that would normally have me worried (ex: walking to my car at night when i work late/late night runs to the grocery store). If you are serious about self defense, take his classes. He operates out of a gym that has great people, great environment, and everything you need to train.
Josh is a great personal trainer, really taught me a lot I don't know even though I work out regularly! He showed me the flaws in NY technique and how I can fix them. Josh is a great guy and is always willing to answer any questions I have
Travis Tooke is the finest instructor I have ever had - that includes every professor who ever taught me in Graduate School and Post-Graduate School. He teaches with such precision and such methodology, that it is literally impossible to forget his lessons - and he makes us drill them every single week, all week. TeamTooke has changed my life. It has changed my family's life, but specifically, Professor Travis has become one of the greatest influences I have ever had. Period.
When i first came to Haganah Houston I was overweight and out of shape and couldnt have defended myself if i wanted to.... almost a yr later I am 55lbs lighter in the best shape and I have confidence and tools to defend myself.... HH is a great family oriented place to train.. All egos are left at the door, John and Chris are great instructors at teaching and keeping everyone safe and free from injury ,,,,,,,,,,,,
I've been training with Uriel (Woody) for close to 2 years now. He is one of the best Muay Thai coaches/fighters in Houston. His classes are high intensity and provide you with fundamental Muay Thai techniques. So not only do you sweat your butt off but you also learn proper Muay Thai at the same time. Muay Thai is an awesome combat sport and Woody incorporates his training routine as a fighter into his classes. So with Woody, you basically train like a Muay Thai fighter. And there's no better workout than a fighter's workout, especially one where you learn how to punch, kick, elbow, and knee! Woody is super cool, patient, and funny. His classes and private lessons are fun and motivating. You'll enjoy the exercise benefits as well as the combat training. I highly recommend taking a class or private lesson from Coach Woody. DO IT NOW!
Lenny worked over a period of about six months with our 12-year old son, we'll call him "Frank," a hyper-articulate but irresponsible ADHD kid whose favorite physical activity is mousing with his right hand while snacking with his left, and who previously resolutely resisted all attempts to engage him in sports or exercise. Lenny realized that if he engaged Frank's brain, his body would follow. Lenny made the training sessions fun (in part, by patiently and attentively listening to Frank’s passions of the day) so that Frank looked forward to them, and even took some responsibility for being ready to start on time. The training focused on core strength and karate kata. Physically, we saw Frank's ability to move increase markedly over time, going from a slumping lumber to movements that approached grace. Mentally and emotionally, Frank developed a strong desire to live up to Lenny’s expectations and take responsibility for his own nutrition and physical activity. I don’t know how we will find someone else with Lenny’s patience, humor, and calm discipline to play a similar role in Frank’s life, but I believe Lenny’s work over the past six months has awakened in Frank a sense of self-discipline and responsibility that will continue to develop. Having tried ourselves to begin that awakening, we cannot be more appreciative of what Lenny has accomplished in this short time period. Our only regret is that we couldn’t find the time for Lenny to be our trainer too.
Nicole is an excellent trainer! She sets my goals, supports me throughout the sessions, and has the education to accommodate my injuries for a successful workout! Additionally, she is my motivation to get their and to make it to through the session! She calls to confirm our appointments, which is great because I am that type of person to forget about me when I am working on my kids life, work, cooking, etc! Overall, Nicole is professional, educated and enhusiastic about maintaining your fitness goals!
I enjoy doing yoga, but I don't like all the religious things that go along with it. Brandon offers yoga lesson without any of that. He also showed me some new poses that really work well. I have been working with him for the past 2 months.

Andrus is a wonderful trainer and a simply wonderful human being. He believes in his trainees and pushes them without barking at them which I appreciate. Since he is degreed in Kinesiology, he is very knowledgeable about muscle groups, what and how to work them and how to take care of strains and injuries! I absolutely love working with him. I am in my 50's and not only look and feel much better but my strength, balance and stamina have greatly improved. I can keep up with kids in their 20s.
