FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When it comes to a locksmith, prices are based on the work we do, ask if the prices includes labor or if that's additional to your Service Charge: Service Charge ? Labor Charge ? Rekey Per Cylinder? Installation of Hardware? Cost To Drill & Install New DeadBolts / Locks? Cost of Materials?- will vary by type of material
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When talking and dealing with new customers, I don't try to overwhelm them with prices. I inform them of what the options are if they want to Rekey or replace locks. I show and discuss the different options for security devices and what is or isn't authorized by property state code if they are renting there properties. I show customers my prices so there are no surprises at time of payment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Texas required every legal locksmith to take CEU courses ( 8 per yr ) I take every opportunity I can to take a locksmith course/training to learn or broaden my skills, from the everyday house and cars to commercial hardware and installs. I may not provide the service at the time, but eventually with all the training provided, I will eventually be able to use it for future business
