Introduction: Other music teachers have, in my opinion, a tendency to bombard beginner students with music theory too early on, in turn overwhelming the student. This is especially pertinent with children. As a teacher, I feel it is more constructive to first teach a student to play a few basic songs they recognize. Once the student can hear the magic of music coming out of their guitar and back at them it is then they develop a genuine interest and capacity for music theory. As a teacher, I have a great understanding of the logical order of learning, and when and how to introduce the math behind the magic. Watching my students progress and become excited about the guitar!

David's been a wonderfully patient guitar teacher to our 7-year-old daughter. By designing lessons that provide her a real sense of accomplishment even early in the process, he has helped her maintain her early enthusiasm. He even went above and beyond by giving us practical, detailed and extremely helpful advice in choosing the best guitar for her needs (and our budget).

David is personable and professional. I am a beginner and he is patient and sets a comfortable pace for me. He has a witty sense of humor that makes the lessons fun. I highly recommend David!
