- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
MIS Tax Pros is a full-service accounting firm that offers a wide spectrum of services to businesses, non-profits, and individuals. Our pricing is very competitive. Most of our service pricing is listed on our website. If you can't find the service listed for which you're searching, we'll be happy to discuss your needs and provide you with affordable rates on the accounting services you require.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is important for us to understand the way that our new customers have been performing their accounting processes. For instance, if the new customer needs periodic bookkeeping services, it is important for us to understand how the accounting function is currently being performed. We take a look at the filing system used for all accounting activities. We perform an analysis of workflows and processes. We look at the software being used and assess the efficiency of the overall accounting process. Then, we will make recommendations to obtain a more productive and efficient accounting process. There may be functions that the business owner would like to have that currently aren't available with the software being used. We'll be able to determine the needs of the business and implement the functions necessary for the company to reach its goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As the principal at MIS Tax Pros, my background is important to understand. I have a Master of Science in Taxation AND a Master of Science in Information Systems. This combination of education makes my firm unique. Not only can we handle your accounting needs, we can also handle your computing needs as well. Since accounting systems run on computers, it is invaluable to have such a combination of background and experience on your team. My staff and I have experience with just about all of the accounting software in use today. It is important to understand the importance of such things as backups and virus protection as they relate to the security of a business. If a business loses its data to a computer crash or a hacker attack, that business can be shut down overnight. We make sure to institute measures that protect against such threats to your data to make sure it is protected so the business is not exposed to such risks. Our competitors may be proficient in accounting services but will rarely have the education and experience to know how to protect the data in an accounting system from threats. This one thing alone makes MIS Tax Pros unique in the industry. I'm an Enrolled Agent, licensed by the Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Not to knock CPAs but that license is issued by the state. And, the CPA exam is less than 15% tax related. Many people do not realize this distinction. Enrolled Agents are the elite in the field of taxation. If you're using QuickBooks Accounting Software, it is important to find a firm that has QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisors on staff. We have individuals in our firm with these coveted credentials so you can rest assured that your QuickBooks will be in tip-top shape. Companies keep up with their accounting throughout the year so they'll be able to have their tax returns prepared at the end of the year. It is important to have a tax expert on your team to maximize the tax benefits you can receive when your tax returns are prepared. We look at bookkeeping and accounting services from a taxation perspective. Not all accountants have this approach.
