The consultation also includes a short workout that helps me to determine the client's current fitness level. The information I receive at this initial meeting helps me put together the best training plan for my client. Every training plan is designed to meet the goals and ability of the individual!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been certified as Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer with ACE for 7 years. In order to keep my certification current, I regularly complete the required continuing education courses that keeps me up to date on the current research that pertains to the industry. In addition to this, I have been a gymnastics coach for 14 years .I initially began coaching because of my love for the sport. However, over the years, I learned more about the human body, the physics of exercise, and strengthening and conditioning than I ever imagined. I believe this experience is what laid the foundation for my career as a Personal Trainer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Coaching has always come second nature to me. I coached gymnastics and cheerleading for 5 years before graduating college. Although I graduted from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Finance, I kept seeking out jobs that allowed me follow my passion of coaching. I had been training and teaching group fitness for years part time before I decided to make it my full time career. After working in the fitness industry for a while, I realized there was a need for mobile training business. I understand that people in this area work long hours, have several young kids at home, and/or fight awful commutes. One way for me to help these people work fitness into their daily routines, is to come to them.
