FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe there is always something new to learn! I try my best to stay up to date with the latest yoga fads & education.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 13 I was diagnosed with sever anxiety & depression. Immediately, my doctor and parents suggested I begin taking anti-anxiety & anti-depression pills so for the next three years, that's how I handled my illness. Instead of working to actually fix the problem, we were just making it. Deciding that I no longer wanted to live my life controlled by prescription pills, I began searching for a healthier, more natural & less harmful way. A good friend of mine recommended I try a yoga class with her one evening & after that, I was hooked! I no longer woke up each morning just to zone myself out with man-made pills that only temporally put a veil over my problem. With just a simple sun salutation each morning I noticed the difference. After about a month, I realized, I hadn't picked up a pill once. After these results, I began a regimented routine of doing a 5 minute routine when I wake up, a 1 hour routine at some point during each day & one last 5 minute routine before bed. Needless to say, I am now anxiety & depression free!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most typical session with a client includes a short consultation about what you are hoping to gain/lose from your practice & about what type of yoga you are interested in practicing. Then we will work on breathing exercises & move into the yoga portion of our session then conclude with a short meditation.
