I found Jim through Thumbtack and he responded to all my questions and concerns in a rapid and professional manner. However, while being extremely professional he matched my personality perfectly with appropriate humor and/or soothing my concerns (like many, I am very camera shy). He was able to fit me into his tight schedule at a time that worked better for me than him I think but it was perfect for me. The "shoot" was extremely comfortable (an amazing surprise for me) and his studio is very inviting. He produced the shots and fixed them nicely (lots of work there I think, knowing what I look like) and had them back to me in an extremely timely manner. They are excellent shots and I would highly recommend him for anyone who needs professional photographs. Jim is great!

Jim was extremely professional and thorough when doing my photo shoot. He is very personable and it was like I was talking to an old friend. He made sure that when we were done to take the time to go through each photo to make sure I liked it. Also to look at each one and explain to me what touchups they would do. I would highly recommend him for any type of photography and will definitely use him again! Plus the pictures came out fantastic and I've never been happier with any other photos then I was with the ones Jim did!

From our very first meeting, Jim made me feel very comfortable and assured that I was choosing the right photographer for my needs. I had boudoir photos done and was extremely nervous going into it. Jim and his wife were utmost professionals and made me feel comfortable with the photos I was doing. Let me just say that the end product far exceeded even my super picky expectations. The photos turned about absolutely beautiful and Jim captured the mood and emotion better than I had imagined it. I am so grateful for his professionalism, kindness and desire to please. I am beyond thrilled and will turn to him again for any needed photos in the future. Jim is not the least expensive out there, but I truly believe you get what you pay for and I couldn't be more satisfied with my overall experience!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Although we usually do not use this process for our business portraits, all others start out with a visit to talk about the vision you have for your photographs -how should they look, what are they supposed to say to those that view them? We call this the "design consultation". We do this because we want to know our clients. Some photographers are willing to just show up and press the button, but that's just a snapshot, and our clients are hiring us to do more than show up and press a button -there uncle or neighbor could do that. We get to know what our clients want -and often they don't know! So together we create it. And based on our 20+ years and thousands of portraits, our clients appreciate it!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading, visiting with, and studying other photographers -I enjoy it, but I feel that I have to, because I am the one that over 2000 San Antonio photographers have come to for their own continuing education, plus I have a photography/business coach to keep me on the cutting edge.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was only six years old when I knew that I wanted to be a photographer! It is wonderful being able to work with amazing clients who are at their best -smiling, in the best mood, and looking great!
