Darla has simply been a joy to work with. She took the time to meet us in person and get to know us to understand what we’re trying to achieve. As first time home buyers and taking on sizable renovation was overwhelming to say the least, but when Darla stepped in she made the process much more digestible and worked well within our modest budget. She also came prepared with a laser measuring tape and my favorite part was the digital mood board she created. It allowed me to visualize the design to include the full layout of the house and potential furniture options. This helped me get a good sense of what I wanted. Lastly, her pricing was amazing. She has a model that allows you to pick and choose the services needed. It’s all very straight forward pricing making it a breeze to budget.

Darla is an incredible interior designer. She has incredible instincts and helped to transform our apartment into a luxury home. I also recently had twins and she helped me to design a baby-proof and well-organized, highly functioning home. She takes the time to go furniture shopping with me to ensure that I am satisfied. Darla is very professional and has a strong work ethic. I admire her so much and trust her implicitly. We will be moving into our new home in a year and she is already helping us to find the right furniture, and is helping us to design our home even before we have moved in. Darla is amazing!!! I was a new wife, in a new home, and newly pregnant, and we were going to be hosting people in our home for Thanksgiving. However the furniture/decor in our living area were all things I had decorated my apartments with over the years, and it all needed to go!!! I had no idea where to start, or how to achieve the look I was going for. I needed help!!! Darla had great reviews so I took a chance, and she exceeded my expectations! She came and assessed my space, went shopping with me around town, and even did some online shopping for me. She had a cool computer program where she would create a room simulation with the furniture/artwork/decor we were contemplating, so that I could see everything together before making decisions. When all of the furniture and decor came in, Darla came over to help place everything appropriately and add finishing touches. She has a great eye!!!! I get overwhelmed with decorating decisions, and I needed someone who could give me a few options that I could choose from--she did this for me! It made the decorating process so much less stressful. She had my space totally transformed in time for the holidays. We were amazed! We received SO many compliments on the house, and we continue to receive them each time someone new comes over. Fast-forward a few months after the transformation, I gave birth to my first baby, and we had a dreaded slab leak in our home😩. We had to replace all of our flooring. I clearly did not have time to go out shopping for flooring, nor did I know what to look for, so we called Darla and she got us all squared away!!!! We LOVE our floors!!!! Darla truly has such a gift! Not only that, but she's affordable, trustworthy, fair, and enjoyable to be around. Hire Darla and you won't regret it!!!!!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Interior design projects can be very different from client to client, therefore I have a number of prices depending on the client's needs. I do have a set consultation fee that is $150.00. I will meet with the client, walk the area or space, and give them a written list of recommendations. If you’re further interested, you can hire me to then create a design plan that includes mood boards and floorplans/renderings. Some clients then choose to do the work themselves and others hire me to do the decorating for them!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Stage 1: Consultation
$150.00
Everything starts with the consultation. Consultations are $150.00 and include a walk thru, evaluation, and written report of recommendations. You may then choose to complete list of recommendations themselves or to have RCI complete the next stage.
Stage 2: Room Design Plan (two-step process)
Floorplan 500-1,700 sq ft ---- $2.5 per sq ft
Floorplan 2,000-3,500 sq ft ----- $1.5 per sq ft
Mood Board ----- $600 first room ($300 per additional room)
RCI will create a design plan for your room including a 3D floorplan/rendering. A completed mood board of elements and color recommendations will also be included. Client may then choose to take RCI’s room design plan and execute the plan themselves or have RCI complete the work (see below).
*Floorplans and Mood Boards have a max of two scope changes before being charged $300 per additional change.
Stage 3: Complete Room Design
$200/hour
Once room design has been approved and agreed upon and a budget has been established, RCI will select all pieces (furniture, rugs, artwork, linens, etc.) and upon approval will purchase on your behalf. RCI will also coordinate any construction or handyman services necessary and will then set everything up for you-- you’ll be ready for the big reveal!
