FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are many factors that are involved in determining my pricing. There are market prices for certain types of events that I try to adhere to, and while I have a pretty standard pricing system, there are just so many factors that can affect my quote. Date, time, length of performance, travel time, prep time, equipment needed, special requests, etc can all have an impact on my price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I study and practice weekly with a vocal coach here in the DFW area. I monitor Billboard and Beatport charts to stay on top of current music, and I read blogs and articles and attend conferences such as NAMM to stay on top of all of the trends in music technology.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Music has always been a passion of mine. I started playing guitar when I was 13. When I got to college, people started inviting me to play at parties, and then places like bars and coffee shops even started paying me to come in and play for a bit. This snowballed over the years until I realized that I had a full time job doing this if I wanted it! I left my corporate management job in July of 2014 and have been playing music professionally ever since- never looking back!
