- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The majority of ongoing education is in the travel industry and with food/ wine pairing. Keeping up with industry news on cooking such as preparation is also important. Knowing of new restaurants and resorts is important so we have to offer to our clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
First, what type of work is Star Banquets and Travel in? We are a hospitality service company. So, personally, I wanted to get into this line of work due to my love of food and travel combined with enjoying working with people. It is the planning side, the extravegant resorts, designing fine dining events and honeymoons, all part of special occasions. All of it I love.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Star Banquets and Travel only recently started offering event services to the consumer market. Previously, founder Mike Rizzo was a personal chef, owned a catering business, a banquet hall and restaurant from 1999 to 2006. For the past five years, our services have been to the business market in the form of consulting services.. Now, our main services since October of 2011 is VIP personal chef events.
