I have known Jeff for over 20 years and have found that he is very passionate in serving his clients and does so in the most professional and empathetic ways that are out there. If you are going through any sort of seperation/divorce/mediation issues, he is your man. he knows the law inside and out and will protect both sides through this process.
They absolutely deserve all 5 of these stars that I'm giving. At the beginning of my divorce I was with a different attorney/law firm who pushed for mediation when I wasn't sure that was the direction I wanted to go and didn't properly educate me on the divorce process. Because I wasn't ready to continue with the next step and wanted to consult my family before making a decision he emailed me on a Saturday saying that if I didn't pay the firm for the next phase/step by Monday he'd drop the case. So, I let him drop the case. Frantically, I start looking around for different attorneys (all over the phone consultations since I'm in a different state) and talked to Laura (one of a few that I had contacted). She was direct, firm, and educated during our conversation. She took the time to explain my best options and was very thorough in her approach as an attorney. She genuinely cares about getting you through the divorce quickly and understands that divorce isn't cheap so, doesn't want to drag things on just to make money. Mediation went way better than I could ever have imagined and I got everything I wanted. Her staff is exceptional. Mediation was a month ago for me and my ex's attorney has been very slow submitting the final decree and paperwork with the court. Melissa and Conor have both been emailing me updates and following up with the other attorney consistently to make sure that everything gets done. They care about their clients and go above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend this Law Firm; they've completely turned around the whole experience for me and been fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them.
Stacy Roberts @ Long Okura was a tremendous help with our divorce mediation. She was very knowledgable and provided invaluable legal advice and options to assist us in resolving previous "sticking points" or disagreements in our divorce terms. We had initially set out to handle our divorce on our own but became overwhelmed with the process and it stalled out for nearly a year. Thanks to Stacy, we completed mediation and she filed all required documents within a week. It was surprisingly affordable and offered the peace of mind that it was done correctly. We were able to come to a fair resolution that both parties are satisfied with.
Darryl did a wonderful job with us. He was punctual, professional, and very helpful. He made us feel very comfortable and confident, and we were able to work out everything we needed to in our first hour. I would recommend him to anyone.
My mediation practice is near and dear to my heart. I am by nature a creative problem solver and enjoy working in a collaborative manner. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the precepts behind mediation. I treat each mediation with the utmost respect and will never leave the table before I have given my full effort to encourage settlement. I was first certified as mediator while in law school, where I competed on our Alternative Dispute Resolution team. My style is a bit unorthodox. I focus on the actual conflict and seek outside of the box solutions. I do well with high conflict situations and often bring parties to agreement when their attorneys thought that it would be impossible. This isn't a guarantee concerning my services but an example of how I work. I am currently the only plaintiff Special Education attorney in the state of Utah. My primary focus is on IEP development and due process complaints. I approach my practice with a strong preference toward problem solving and collaboration. I hold workshops regularly for parent's who have children with disabilities. I run the blog iep.guide and have been working on my first book, A Collaborative Guide to Special Education: Parent's Guide, which should be released shortly. It focuses upon relationship building and includes the types of conflict management techniques I use in all of my work.
I am a divorce mediator on the Court Roster for the state of Utah. Divorce/custody issues, parenting plans, and all types of family mediation are my specialty. I also mediate elder issues between family members with aging parents such as discrepancies on the elder person's care and living arrangements, inheritance issues, etc. I believe in preserving relationships between divorcing parents for the benefit of the children, and relationships between feuding siblings in adult families (aging parents do not need more stress!). I conduct relationship education classes and workshops with topics that include couple communication, co-parenting guidance, recognizing red flags in the dating world, how to communicate with aging parents, tips for step-families, etc.

As a mediator, I will not act as a judge, in that I will not make decisions FOR you – but I will act as a judge in that I will remain neutral. I will do my best to listen to everything that each of you needs to say, and I will ask questions to make sure that we have all of the information we need. If one person needs additional information, I will help to brainstorm to figure out how to get the information to that person. He or she might need the assistance of an accountant, a financial planner, or an attorney, before feeling confident enough to evaluate offers that are on the table or have enough background information to make decisions.
We mediate a wide range of disputes, from probate and construction to domestic disputes. We also offer court-qualified basic and domestic mediation We provide training as well as customized dispute resolution courses.
