FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I constantly read up on new trends and developments in the field by using resources such as PDN and staying in touch with other photographers. However, the best way to grow as a photographer is simply to shoot, A LOT. So, in addition to hired work I'm constantly shooting - trying out new techniques and lighting to expand my repertoire and develop my skills.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been artistic and interested in creative professions. I first picked up a camera in high school and fell in love with black and white film and the darkroom. So, I went to art school, graduated with a BFA in photography, and entered the photography industry in 2001. I wouldn't dream of doing anything else.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I shoot a lot of engagements and weddings as well as commercial lifestyle imagery and editorial portraits for magazines. So, I photograph in ALL sorts of situations from tiny cramped rooms to beautiful open landscapes - usually without much (if any) time to set up. So, I have become very skilled with moving quickly and lighting even the least optimal situation!
