FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I want parents to feel like they are spending their money well. If child is hesitating or reluctant to practice, this is not productive for me. I give free lessons and go overtime if needed to get into the habit of practicing. If no independence happens. I don't return. The child must be motivated and it helps if the parent learns with them but is flexible and helps the child relax. The first 3 lessons create a practice pattern. The parents need to follow up. The issue is not the price but the practice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I canvas the local libraries and get a list of what's available to send parents to get those books.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had one good piano teacher at age 12. I learned much in one year. The next year I began playing for children's primary and I've been playing ever since in all meetings. I trained in elementary education but I found in group teaching non readers that needed one on one to catch them up so I created my system.
