FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a free Zoom consultation so we can talk about what’s going on and determine whether mediation makes sense for your situation. My mediation rate is $300 per hour. The amount of time required depends entirely on the issues involved and the goals of the parties. Some disputes are relatively straightforward, while others involve multiple issues that need to be worked through carefully. During our consultation, I’ll explain the process, answer your questions, and give you a realistic sense of what to expect moving forward.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most people come to mediation because they’re stuck. Communication has broken down, positions have hardened, or they’ve simply reached a point where they need help moving the conversation forward. The process usually begins with a free Zoom consultation so I can learn more about the situation and determine whether mediation is a good fit. If mediation makes sense, we’ll schedule an organizational conference to discuss goals, expectations, participants, and logistics. From there, we move into mediation sessions focused on identifying interests, exploring options, overcoming obstacles, and working toward practical agreements. While I’m based in Salt Lake City, I regularly work with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations throughout the United States. Most matters can be handled efficiently by Zoom, and in-person mediation is available when appropriate.
