Introduction: I've been painting houses in Northern Virginia for over 15 years. In response to the demand for more and more decorative finishes by my customers, I enrolled in a faux painting course at the Decorative Arts Center in St. Louis, Missouri in 2004. While there, I learned to perfect techniques that I had already been using, in addition to bolstering my portfolio with many new finishes. I thoroughly enjoy the art of painting and take great pride that my work is on display daily in many houses in the Washington, DC area.

Alan was extremely professional and wanted to ensure that I was happy with his work. He provided me with 2 different color swatches for the color wash that he did in my son's room. Alan was professional, trustworthy, and did an excellent job. Alan painted our nursery walls. He came with several cases of supplies, and measured and taped the stripes (pictured below) carefully. I would highly recommend Alan for your painting needs. My wife was extremely happy, which... if you have a pregnant wife in the third trimester, you know why that's important. =)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All jobs are priced on a case-by-case basis. Because my work is highly specialized and tailored to each customer, there is no standard square footage pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New jobs are usually started with a brief description from the customer of what they are looking to do to their home. If I feel confident in performing the work, a free estimate is scheduled. A written estimate is typically given via e-mail or delivered in person in a day or two with an estimated start date. For faux finishes, a sample is always made before any work begins.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
