I was referred to this company so I took their word for it. I contacted Robin and he was able to accommodate my move date. So far so good. I paid the $20 deposit. The day of the move went well. The 2 guys were good. We tip them and I gave them the check for the fee. Later on I realized that I did not deduct the initial $20. So I contacted Robin and his answer was that he though the $20 was a tip so he couldn't give me back the $20. I was stunned one because you don't just assume that I am giving an xtra tip and 2 before you do give the money to the guys he should have confirmed with me. Anyway, until now I have yet received my money back and his excuse is that he already gave the money to the worker. These guys work for him so he should be able to get the money back. Sounds like a crook to me. This is not how you run a business. This man is dishonest and I do not recommend this company.

This lady would want me to take back from her team what they appropriately thought was tip? How awful. I actually offered to split the difference with her and give her $10 back and the guys could keep tip. I have our email thread to prove this as well. So this lady does not tip, and then lies as you can see by email thread I offered the $10 before she left this review. You do as many moves as us you sadly deal with some mean dishonest people :(

We had never heard of the practice of hiring moving labor to load and unload a rental truck for a move, until our recent relocation. Based on reviews and pricing, we chose DC Top Choice Movers, and are very glad we did. They made our move a very positive and painless experience. After some informative exchanges with the owner, Robin, we went with his suggestion of a four-man crew for two hours to load our rental truck (we had already done all the packing), which worked perfectly, especially given that we were on a tight deadline to get the truck returned on time. His men were on time, professional, courteous, and hard-working. Not only were they able to easily handle the usual items like boxes, storage tubs, furniture and mattresses, etc., but they also did a great job with odd and heavy items like our treadmill. They completed the job in exactly two hours and packed the truck so well that there was room to spare. Furthermore, they caused no damage to the house we are leaving. Since we moved out of town, we hired a different crew to load into our new home. After unpacking at the other end, we found no damage to our belongings whatsoever, which is partly a testament to our packing skills and the second crew, but also to the care Robin's crew took when loading the truck.Be aware that Robin prefers communication by e-mail and not by phone. We were a little concerned about this at first, but we always received timely and informative responses and were very satisfied with the results. For making one of life's least favorite days an effortless and easy time for us, we highly recommend DC Top Choice Movers.

My fiancé and I used this service to move apartments in Alexandria. He and his friend had used the service before and had a perfectly pleasant experience. The same was not true this time around. The packing team was one man short so we had one guy show up to pack up 5 rooms; he spent 5 out of 6 hours just packing up the kitchen! JUST THE KITCHEN! We had to call a friend to come over to help us pack up the other rooms before the movers arrived! The movers got there on time but did an unimpressive job loading the truck (kept missing items that we had to point out were supposed to be loaded). Our new place was about 3 miles from the old place, and within that 3 miles they managed to damage 5 pieces of furniture. Our end table was scratched, our book shelf broken, the headboard ruined and the couch messed up. The movers didn't take an inventory or do a pre-inspection of anything, and then Robin exhibited an attitude over the phone when we called to complain. I used to be in the military and have experienced many different moves over the years; this was the worst moving experience I have ever had.

These customers had a first rate packer. Yes his partner got sick so I sent him early and for 6 hours instead of 3 so same price but twice as much time as only 1 packer. Did anything in the kitchen break? No. It is by far the most time consuming room as every dish has to be wrapped. As far as damage we pointed out so much damage and scratches to them prior to moving. Is it possible we added to the scratches? I don't know the guys did not think so but it is possible so I gave them discount on their move even though again furniture was very damaged and scratched from previous wear and tear. Customers complaints were heard and discount was given. This lady exaggerates which is not fair, and she was dealt with fairly and compensated.

Yes this customer boxed up some books to save themselves money while our skilled packer wrapped wine glasses, dishes etc to ensure zero breakage. It takes a very unethical person to take compensation for something that wasn't even our fault then come back and try and double dip and get more out of it and then leave untrue hateful comments. We don't give in to blackmail, what we do is provide the best quality moving services at great rates. Luckily we have been around long enough that a few bad apples can't ruin our reputation as honest professional movers.
