We offer support, accountability, education and motivational programs and events that will surely get you on track or back on track. My name is Jaime Follows, and my goal is to see that you succeed as you work towards your personal fitness goals! I hold a B.S. in Exercise Science with a concentration in applied health from Virginia Commonwealth University, and I am a ACSM certified personal trainer. Ever since I graduated in 2006, I've been a trainer and a coach to people from all walks of life. I'm truly blessed to be able to work with some of the best people in Virginia. It's the personal aspect of the job that I love, why I do it, and I hope it shows in my work. I'm looking forward to working with you!

I've been working with Jaime for almost a year. I didn't need to lose weight, but pretty much just needed to get in shape, get stronger and aim for that "toned" look that so many women are looking for. I've put on a couple pounds (again, I was too skinny, thats what I was looking for) of muscle. What is great about Jaime is that he listens to what you're looking for. So many trainers don't and assume everyone wants to lose weight. I keep asking to go heavier and heavier with the weights. He reigns me in so I don't hurt myself, but I'm now squatting 70 lbs, rowing 35 lbs, 35 lbs on each arm on chest presses (1 set only), and can do 20 pushups without cheating/assistance. For a little weakling, that a year ago I struggled with using 10 pound weights...I'm quite proud of what I can do now! My fiance has noticed my new "toned" look and comments on it all the time! :) Ladies, you want that toned look? Lift as heavy as you can. I am definitely not big, just getting tighter, stronger looking arms and legs. When you sign up with Jaime he gives you a heart rate monitor that you wear every time you workout. It helps to see how many calories you burned, average heart rate, and the time spent on the workout. He also gives you access to a personal online FitLog which you fill in with the info from your heart rate monitor and tracks your weekly progress. You can see where you met your weekly goals..and the weeks where you didn't. Oops. :) Jaime is helpful in that I was topping out on what I could do without a weight bench and he helped in finding me a good weight bench. He also went to Dick's for me and got me the 35 lb weights so I didn't have to cart them out of the store myself. And no, he's not a weirdo trainer trying to pick up on women. That was my biggest fear in using a personal trainer. He's just a nice guy trying to help his clients! He'll do it for his male clients too! I've had a good experience with Jaime. What I like best is that he listens to what you want and will customize your workouts to what you are asking for so you can work on your personal goals!

I worked with Jaime for over a year and a half. He helped me realize a long-time goal of incorporating weight lifting into my lifestyle. I was a leaner guy looking to bulk up, and was basically starting from scratch. Jaime worked with me to customize a workout routine that drastically changed how I feel about my body. The best thing for me is the longterm health benefits his routines gave me, but people commenting on how good I look is also nice. Jaime brings a lot of knowledge to the field of personal training which is plagued with misinformation, but his biggest assets are his personality and passion. He brings an energy to the workouts that is palpable, and he truly cares about the people he works with. He is doing what he loves with his life and it shows. I ultimately stopped working with Jaime only because I finished grad school and had to go back to work. Once my schedule becomes settled I hope to work with him again to reach fitness goals that once seemed unattainable.

I started using Jaime for my 19 yr old son. They got along great and made good progress. When my son returned to college, I began to train with Jaime. I am 56 and was not raised to exercise or participate in sports. I was tired, overweight and fighting chronic illness. Not that it has been easy, but we've made progress! I've lost weight and more importantly, inches. I feel more energetic and have drastically reduced the maintenance medicines I was taking. Jaime is a great guy with an engaging personality and understands what motivates me. My goal is to feel fit enough to try anything that interests me and to live longer - think I'm well on my way! Last Spring, I was pretty miserable. I was very overweight, very out of shape, and living with a lot of pain in my feet, ankles, knees and back. It was getting difficult to do the every day things I needed and wanted to do, and I was feeling lost. Exercise hurt too much which resulted in more sitting, more eating, and more weight gain. In a moment of motivation, I searched on Yelp for personal trainers near me and made a call to TruFit. I feel very lucky that Jaime answered the phone that day. We've been working together for 10 months now. In that time I've lost over 50 pounds, a few clothing sizes, and many inches. More importantly, my back pain is gone and I am back to hiking, walking, and I recently started running again. My joints feel much better and can carry me wherever I need to go. The best change is that my resting heart rate has gone from 84 beats per minute down to 63. I feel much healthier, happier and have a lot more energy. From day one, Jaime has been encouraging, motivating and challenging. Our workouts are always changing and I'm never bored. Jamie focuses on all aspects of health, not just our strength training sessions: nutrition, food habits, sleep, cardio, and more. He genuinely cares about me and is fun to work with. I have more progress I want to make; and I just signed with Jaime and TruFit Personal Training for another year. I'm looking forward to another year of success and finding out what I'm capable of next!
