Introduction: I'm a certified professional Spanish interpreter in health and community settings. I assist my clients with English/Spanish interpretation or translation. I am available for in-person or telephonic assignments. I have four years of interpretation experience in medical settings and over 25 in general interpretation. I work with outside agencies as a freelance interpreter and have had the opportunity to work with some of our local hospital systems, along with working with schools and insurance companies. I worked as a certified professional interpreter for almost 11 years. I've had the pleasure and opportunity to work in many different settings and on diverse projects.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started this type of work because I needed a change. I had become certified through an employer that provided medical services to our community. So initially, it was to bridge that gap within our own clinic. As time went by, I realized that I could do this independently and ventured out to work on my own.
