Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am the owner of Spacewalk of Fauquier but I am also a Mom. As such I understand that you want the best experience for your child's party. I do not rent you a unit just to receive a paycheck. If I feel that a larger more expensive unit is going to be too big or too intimidating for your child, I will share that information with you and suggest another unit that may work better. Of course ultimately it is the customers decision but I believe by sharing my insight over the years I have provided a happy experience where it may not have been if I had just been after the paycheck. I think Mom's just think about the kids first and that is where I stand out. I enjoy working with the kids and meeting new friends. I have worked with children a long time with this job and others. It is fun to be the person who brings the fun to the party. I have said before in other blogs that our Spacewalk customers become friends. I have a lot of repeat customers and I enjoy hearing from them each year. We catch up on how the families are doing and what is new. I have watched their children grow up over the years and they have watched my son grow up as well. He started when he was in 2nd grade helping us on deliveries and now he is graduating and is a large part of our delivery team.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Spacewalk rents about a 70% / 30% ratio of backyard parties to school/ church rentals. Regardless of who we are working for though, we strive to always give the best customer service available as well as the safest. We also keep our prices reasonable so that everyone can afford to have some extra fun at their event. When making a reservation you can be sure you will be helped to find the best unit for your event, it will arrive on time, clean and sanitized, and it will be set up safely. All of this with a happy and helpful fun crew working for you. At Spacewalk we are parents too and therefore understand just how important your event is to your family.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

As the owner of a company that rents moon bounces, combo units, water units, obstacles and more I would like to talk to you about comparing rental companies. It is very important to be sure you are comparing apples to apples as they say, or as I like to say moon bounces to moon bounces. Here are some insider tips on questions you should be asking when you are calling around to get price quotes. 1. Check the sizes of the units. Examples would be: some moon bounces are 13 ft x 13 ft. others are 15 ft x 15 ft, not a huge difference but it does mean a difference in the number of children it can hold. Slides need to be compared equally, some companies state the height as where the children actually sit down, others state the height of all the decorations and walls above the actual place where they sit down. Be sure a 15 ft is what you are actually getting, not a 10 ft slide with 5 feet of decoration. 2. Compare the number of hours you are going to have the unit. Some companies quote a price for four hours and then add an additional fee for every hour more that you want the unit. Some companies quote a price for a definite eight hours. Some will let you keep the unit overnight for free, others will charge you a fee. 3. Always ask if there are additional fees.... taxes, set up fees, cleaning fees, overnight fees, fuel fees...make sure the price you are quoted is the actual price you will pay. 4. Check the weather and cancellation policy, if it is pouring down rain the day of your event are you still going to have to pay? How quickly will you be reimbursed if you have already paid? 5. Do they require a deposit or payment upfront? What assurance do I have that I will be able to get a refund if I need to cancel. Will I receive a confirmation? 6. Do they offer any freebies or throw ins for the kids? 7. What are your cleaning procedures? Are the units cleaned and sanitized after every use? 8. What are your safety procedures? How do you secure your units? Do you avoid tripping hazards? All of these questions are important to ask so that you know you are getting the best deal for your money, as well as a happy experience for your child. Pay attention to the person you are talking to when you make your reservation.... are they happy? Do they seem to have a quick answer when you ask a question or do they seem like they are having to think about it too much? It may seem like a lot of questions to rent a moon bounce, but I promise you it is time well spent. One bad apple can spoil the barrel..... a bad moon bounce experience will ruin your party. I hope you find this helpful and I wish you happy moon bounce picking. Have a great day and smile. Renae Spacewalk
