FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I participate in New York fashion week, which allows me to see what the makeup trends are going to be for each season. I also write a blog and am constantly researching new products and the latest looks to show my clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved makeup and the world of fashion and have dabbled in all aspects of these worlds from designing and sewing to photography and finally to makeup artistry as my medium of choice. I figured out that makeup artistry was my calling because while in college I set up photo shoots for my photography classes and would do everything from the hair and makeup to choosing the model (or being the model) to the photography and post processing! After doing all of these shoots and making up my friends, teachers and family I knew that makeup was the perfect career for me! After I studied at the Academy of Freelance Makeup in New York City, I dove head first into being a makeup artist full time instead of just fitting it in on days off. This is when I decided to move into the world of weddings. It is such a fulfilling area of the makeup world being able to make someoneâÃÂÃÂs amazing day even more special by giving them a look that they feel like themselves and that shows them glowing inside and out!
