This is a detailed review of my basement renovation project and I hope it helps others. Overall, Im happy with my decision because even though not everything was smooth sailing, Mehran was willing to make things right. I highly recommend Reimagined Renovations as long as Mehran is supervising, because he will make sure youre happy and satisfied if anything goes wrong.I found Reimagined Renovations on Thumbtack after speaking with many contractors (this was my first time hiring a contractor). Mehran worked really hard to earn my business. I was about to sign with another contractor for drywall, but Mehran asked me not to decide until he provided an estimate. During the estimate, he guided me through what he thought would work and wouldnt work, and that was a big reason I chose him because it felt like teamwork. Another Class A contractor quoted me $8,500; Mehrans price was $9,500 but I was able to negotiate it down to $9,000.After signing the contract, I realized I didnt specify that I wanted a solid-core door and a GFCI outlet, and I really appreciated that Mehran was kind enough to add those. There was a huge snowstorm a few days before the start, but Mehran and his team still started on Monday. Moving things from the first floor to the basement was difficult because of the space, but they worked through the constraints. The drywall went up fast and I was extremely satisfied. Mehran didnt cheap out on materials, he chose the best materials for noise isolation.After drywall, they started the kitchenette. Since this was my first renovation, I didnt realize that if materials are included, they need to be from Home Depot. I had a design in mind and thought it would look very similar, but keep in mind its limited to what Home Depot carries and whats in stock. I recommend going online ahead of time to check materials and availability. Mehran was also kind enough to go to Home Depot with me to pick materials (the only thing I didnt pick was the sink).I was very involved in the kitchenette and helped Mehran figure out which breaker to choose. I also helped with cleaning each day (even though Mehran offered to do it). The estimated timeline was one week, but it became about two weeks because the basement was too cold and I didnt have the microwave and wall cabinet ready. I still appreciate Mehran and his team because one day they worked from 9am to 6pm trying to finish. I also appreciated that Mehran helped me with other small tasks without charging extra. He even helped and taught me how to replace tile and didnt get to finish the cabinet handles. I really appreciate it. The next day, his worker came and installed the handles, they werent straight, but Mehran came back and fixed them.There were a few issues (mostly due to my lack of experience), but Mehran made things right:-> I didnt catch a detail in the estimate and didnt ask for drywall on a cement wall. Mehran offered to add it for $1,000, so that was an additional charge.-> I didnt know all materials had to be from Home Depot or what was in stock, but Mehran let me go with him to choose.-> I didnt know undermount sinks only work with granite/marble/quartz. My design had an undermount sink; Mehran offered to upgrade to quartz at a good price, but I chose not to add more cost. I dont blame him because none of the contractors told me this either.-> During renovation, the sink turning knob went missing, but I found it and Mehran came back and installed it for me.-> When removing a plug, a cut wire caused a short and burned an old GFCI outlet, but Mehran fixed it by buying a new GFCI outlet.Overall, Im satisfied with the result, this is definitely not an easy project but I appreciate Mehrans communication and willingness to stand behind the work.

Communication was excellent throughout the project, and we always felt informed and comfortable with the process. Mr. Mehran and his team remodeled of my kitchen and bathrooms. They were professional and polite. Very detailed and neat of everything they did. I referred them to my friends. I will use them as my house maintenance contractors in the future.

In my estimate I try covering everything that I have discussed with the homeowner to eliminate any surprises for both parties
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meet the client in person at the job site, go over the details, exchange ideas, once we have an idea we make a plan. I take notes and measurements no matter what size job I’m looking at so my estimates cover everything.

I studied Civil Engineering
