Introduction: I am from Bogota, Colombia, and hold a BA degree in Arts, Communication and Journalism from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. I studied law at Universidad Externado de Colombia, also in Bogota. I have been living and teaching in the United States since 1994. My experience includes teaching Spanish at all levels with individuals, groups and in public and private schools. I also work with embassies in Washington, D.C. preparing diplomatic personnel for travel or new postings in Latin America. I have organized and led learning tours to acquaint students with the language and culture of South America. Patricia Nieto taught me to speak Spanish. I worked with her for several years and gained proficiency that I did not expect. It is a tool that I use in business and in my personal life. Once I had reached a comfortable level, she began teaching my children. There is no doubt it gave them an excellent basis in school, and their grades have been stellar. Vacation to Latin America is much more enjoyable for the whole family now that we can speak the language. She is fantastic!
