FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I listen to my customers first. I try to set prices on Thumbtack but always have an open mind for budgeting. I charge based on the following: 1) How many systems and locations need systems set up. 2) Is alcohol involved 3) How big of a system do you need 4) How long am I playing ( I also have contracted $150 for any hour after the contracted time) 5) Negotiate after most of those factors. (I have been told that my prices are too low for what I do. I do it for the gratitude and the fun. I love music...
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communicate with them. Sending messages back and forth is fine, but the real truth comes from speaking with each other. I get a real feel for what the Bride and Groom want by speaking openly with them. If you don't do something that they are asking for, then tell them you don't do it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hands on experience mostly. There is no better teacher/trainer than just doing it. I believe in getting involved. If I want to be decent, then I practice sometimes. If I want to be good, then I practice every chance I get. That relates to music too. To be good you have to practice good.
