Introduction: Swing Machine adds a touch of "sophisticated fun" to your event! While there are many small "big" bands, nothing can compare to the sound of an honest-to-goodness REAL "Big Band"! The band consists of 17 musicians, plus a vocalist!
Swing Machine unites current/former members of the USAF Airmen of Note, the Army Blues, the Navy Commodores and other accomplished musicians into one fabulous, exciting big band!
From our Grammy-nominated vocalist Juanita Williams to our percussionist Jeff Johnson from the Glenn Miller Orchestra to our lead tenor sax Pete BarenBregge who led the USAF Airmen of Note and in between, there isn't a "slacker" on the band! We have "top-notch" musicians, giving "top-notch" performances, every time!
Band members have performed with well-known artists such as Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Barbara Streisand, Earth Wind and Fire, Gladys Knight, the Temptations, Carlos Santana, Johnny Mathis, Dizzy Gillespie, Chuck Mangione, Modern English, Ben Vereen, Frankie Avalon, The Platters, Maureen McGovern, 5th Dimension, Blues Traveler, Natalie Cole, Barry Manilow, Al Jeareau, Harry Connick, Jr., the Four Tops, the O-Jays and more!
Our music library contains over 2,000 song titles. Each performance is customized to meet our clients needs.
During band breaks, we will provide recorded music, so there will be no interruption in you entertainment.
The set up area the band will require, is most times LESS than other "horn" bands! The area needed is about 16' deep, by 21' wide. Risers are not necessary, and is dependent upon what each particular client would like.
Band Leader, Geoff Peterson, will be happy to emcee your event for you. He has over 25 years of experience as an on-air radio personality at several large Washington, DC radio stations such as WAVA, WPGC and WMZQ. Geoff has emceed for everything from birthday parties and wedding receptions to international events and Fourth of July celebrations on the Washington Monument grounds.
Swing Machine performs at private, corporate and public events.
Rate will vary upon day of the week, time and length of event and distance to be traveled.

The question I am asked most often is, "Is the band really having as much fun as it looks like you are?"
The simple answer is, YES! The band really just enjoys playing together, and we're a family! It's great to get together with other musicians on the same level and just play! When putting the band together, we didn't look at just the musical ability of each player, but how they interacted with other players. We have such a good camaraderie on the band, and such a desire to play our very best, the atmosphere and enjoyment it creates for all is amazing!
