FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We typically give a complimentary consultation so that we can find the individual's or business needs, and base our price on that. It can be done in person or by phone. We are very fair with our pricing, but very shortly in the future, we will have basic rates and investment information posted, so that those who want a certain package, can book this way.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually ask the goal of the photo shoot. And especially for actors, which is my specialty. I will advise client to bring various outfits, and try to match them to the goal of the shoot, and what characters they may play or how they would like to convey "who they are" through their photo. And then I begin by touching up makeup to get them "camera ready". It is a big secret to a great photo. The right makeup for the camera, and how it conveys. It can be like a photo makeover. It is basically what would happen if someone stepped onto a movie set or a professional photo shoot for a magazine. They would have wardrobe chosen, and makeup for the goal of the shoot, and then we begin shooting, and everything falls into place.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a member of WPPI, wedding and Portrait Photographers International. Since I have left a few years ago, I stay tuned to the latest trends as they happen in Los Angeles. Also I take online photography seminars with the guys who are cutting edge, like Createasphere. And also online courses with Creative Live. I spend time teaching myself new techniques for image editing and retouching as well.
