- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Flat fee for tax preparation services; $75 for 1040EZ, $100 for 1040A, $125 for Form 1040; fees increase according to complexity of return, based on amount of work envolved.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Assist in completing a tax organizer, then comprehensive interview with client, going over information included in organizer. Ask questions about they're lifestyle, income, expenses, whether there are students in the family, etc. Just look for any tax breaks they may qualify for. Once interview is completed, usually send client home, and call them when the returns are completed and ready for filing, to set up second appointment to pick up their documents. On occasion, have completed process in one sitting, on computer, then delivering copies later, after printing. Now offering electronic filing for all clients, if desired. This can speed up receipt of refunds. And will eventually be offering bank products, where you can get bank loan through electronic filing, secured by anticipated refunds.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Income tax courses by several corporate tax service agencies. One semester of Tax Theory and Application at a university. All that after first semester of Bookkeeping in high school (included preparing basic income tax return). Tax course by Liberty Tax completed fall of 2013. Most recently completed (October, 2015) tax (refresher) course through "The Tax College" online, a division of World Wide Web Tax, Inc., 1000 West McNab Rd., Pompano Beach, FL 33069. Access IRS web site frequently to conduct research on tax issues.
