Introduction: I give personal, one-on-one service in a professional, yet friendly manner. Laura recently completed a project for the Commonwealth of Virginia--training small businesses to use social media more effectively to increase sales. She conducted three sessions, each targeting a specific geographic area: inner city, suburban and rural. I could not be happier with her performance. She tailored each session to the specific audience, having completed research before making her presentations. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend Webinars, read articles, take online classes, and participate in online forums and discussions. I also attend seminars, events, and conferences and seek out my peers to trade insights. Social Media Management is a very new field and we are all still learning. I equally enjoy teaching and learning and will never stop studying; education is a journey and not a destination.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been helping people with computer issues, web development, and marketing as favors for as long as I can remember. I was a financial advisor until the recent market crash (2009) when I decided, at the urging of my networking contacts, to focus on the networking and marketing skills I developed and go into business for myself.
