Hired on Thumbtack

Brian did an excellent job with my portrait headshots. His professionalism and expertise made the shoot very easy for me from the start. I was very impressed with his work quality and overall professionalism. I did not have any portrait experience prior to working with Brian, but he went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. He offered sound advice on how to utilize my eyebrows, facial expressions, and body language to maximize the emotion captured in the photo. He also provided great advice on which wardrobes worked best during the shoot. Overall, it was a privilege to work with Brian and I would highly recommend him.

Hired on Thumbtack

We retained Brian to photograph several ancient coins for use in an exhibit we are putting on at a major national convention. This was a very technically complicated job, as most of the coins are very small, and most are made out of what is no longer a current coinage metal, so the colors were not “standard.” There was also a tight time constraint. Brian produced a series of images that more than met our expectations: these are truly museum-quality portraits, and I do mean “portraits” — to the extent that it is possible to bring out the “personality” of an inanimate object like a coin, Brian did this. The purpose of the photographs was to enable viewers to see the details on these (very small) coins, and Brian really brought everything to life (again, to the extent that you can talk about bringing something to “life” when dealing with an inanimate object). These are really beautiful. I would also mention that before starting the work, Brian took the time to identify specifically what it was that we were looking for, and why we wanted things to be the way we wanted them to be, and he gave us excellent advice about the best way to achieve our goals. He took a real interest in making sure that we would get exactly what we wanted and what we needed. And we got exactly what we wanted and needed.

Brian did some outdoor family portraits for us, and they are wonderful! Before the shoot, he took the time to speak with me about location, clothing, and the types of poses I was looking for. During the shoot, he was very professional and organized; plus, he was great with my three kids! He also gave us lots of tips and suggestions throughout the shoot. The photos turned out beautifully! I would definitely recommend Brian and plan to use him again in the future.

Brian has taken photographs for Richmond Memorial Health Foundation on two occasions, and we are delighted with the results. We have received many compliments as well as requests for his contact information from partners who were struck by the quality of his work and wanted to hire him. He's also great to work with and personable, and he worked closely with each person to make sure that we were all happy with our portraits. Christina Nuckols, director of community relations, RMHF
