Introduction: My name is Julia Tinker. I live in Round Hill, Virginia. I am a lifelong resident of Loudoun County and have been pet sitting informally for the past 25 years. I am a full-time Montessori teacher. However, my animal magnetism and love for animals became apparent at a very young age. Growing up in the country, I had a menagerie of animals ranging from cats and dogs to llamas. I was their caretaker, vet and mommy.
I began doing odd pet sitting jobs for friends and neighbors when I was old enough to ride my bike to the far end of the village where I was living. In middle school, I began volunteering with the Loudoun Therapeutic Handicapped Riding Foundation. In 2000, I was Junior Leader of the 4-H "Loudoun Llama Lovers" Club.
With a lifelong passion for helping people, love for animals and the desire to own my own business, I decided that I would put my passion for people and my love for animals together and start my own pet sitting business. With much research and thought I began a professional pet sitting business in 2009. I am anxious to put my animal magnetism to work for you and am ready for you and your beloved pets.
I am a member of Pet Sitters International, Pet Sitters Association, United Pet Sitters and Northern Virginia Professional Pet Sitters Network. In February 2009, I completed an in-depth "Pet Sitter Accreditation" Program through Pet Sitters International.
In addition to owning my own pet sitting business I have four cats who are all 10+ years old. I have had these cats since they were 1 year old. I have a fish tank with a variety of freshwater fish. Over the years, I have had several dogs, and raised llamas.
