FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Nothing complicated because I'm willing to work with my customers budgets. VALUABLE TIP: it's less expense to hire for multiple hours versus just one hour. Why? Because my time spent with you is just a fraction of the real time spent preparing for your event: creating designs for your particular event, getting my gear and kit ready, packing my car, and the gas and time spent traveling to and from your event, the unpacking and breaking down and cleaning of all of my gear is time consuming, but necessary. I'm extremely particular about cleaning my brushes and can spend an entire hour making sure they are 100% clean and sanitized. I'll always arrive at your event with a clean face painting kit!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I travel to and attend as many classes and conventions that I can. I attended such conventions such as the International Face and Body Art convention, and always attend Kapital Kidvention, and have be fortunate to have taken classes with some of the top Master Artistss in the world today! I attend and run a local jam (get together) in my area where I'm able to learn and share with others in my profession, and take private art lessons on a weekly basis. I am connected to over 800 face and body artists all over the world through social media, and belong to over 200 specialty groups so that I can keep up with the latest trends and techniques.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved to paint and draw, so a friend suggested that I attend a local Children's Entertainer Convention so that I could take some face painting classes and see if I would be interested in that. It was a three day long convention, and it's hard to describe how it felt to see 300 children's entertainers walking the halls of the hotel dressed in bright, colorful clothing, faces painted, balloon sculptures lining the halls, and everyone having a huge smile on their faces. I walked around with the "doe in the headlights" look on my face because I was completely in awe at discovering that this community of entertainers even existed! I took my very first class with a world renowned artist, Mark Reid, who taught not only basic face painting techniques, but shared his love and passion for what he does and how he attained his excellence, further opening my eyes to the possibilities for my own future as a face artist.
