Semper Fi Exteriors is a veteran-owned and operated remodeling business. The owner, Nick Bonadies, believes in doing the job right the first time. He is a Marine whose life has been molded by service and commitment. And service and commitment are the focus of everything we do. Guided by principles learned in the US Marine Corps, Nick and his team are not your usual contractors. They approach your exterior remodeling project with integrity and respect. They want to make sure the work is precisely the way you want it. Your home is your biggest investment. The first layer of protection your home has is what is on the outside. That is why we put our effort into all of your exterior remodeling projects, no matter how big or small they are. Our mission is donating large portions of profit to charities that support our military veterans.

Our garage roof needed to be completely replaced. Semper Fi Exteriors is based in Woodbridge. We live in Richmond. I don't know if this explains the discrepancy. The appointment was scheduled for 1:30 pm. The estimator called to change the appointment to 10:30 am, which was fine. He arrived in a vehicle that appeared to be in poor condition and making a lot of noise.The estimator was informed that we had an 11:30 am appointment. He was asked to complete the estimate before 11:30 am. He said no problem.. It was a problem, because the quote was handwritten. We had to break away from a previously scheduled meeting to discuss the quote. Additionally the quote was 100% more than 8 other quotes (that's not a typo; more than double 8 other quotes) and 80% more than another quote. Perhaps the prices are DC prices and not Richmond prices. Would not recommend Semper Fi Exteriors in the Richmond area.Edited to respond to comments by owner based on our initial review:1. The owner did not address the unprofessional experience with the estimator.2. The Semper Fi Exteriors estimation process is very old school with hand written estimates that took 30 minutes to complete.3. The estimator was informed that his quote was 100% more than 8 other quotes. His response was that was their price. The owner provided a lot of other excuses and potential adjustments. The estimator did not. We went with 50 year limited warranty shingles. It is difficult to believe that materials could be so drastically different.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm actually happy this review showed up so we can explain how our company operates in more detail. We do lots and lots of projects in Richmond. Our pricing has always been in line and extremely competitive. If we were always 100% higher than every other company we would be out of business. We typically fall in the middle when there are multiple estimates. There are lots of things that can make the cost more or less from company to company. For example a higher grade shingle will increase the cost or different underlayments will increase the costs. Our prices are so competitive we offer a Price Match Guarantee. We will match any other companies price as long as it is apples to apples. With that being said I'm assuming we used more expensive materials. One last possibility. Since we are human it is possible that our rep mis-measured. It rarely happens but it is possible. Again we offer a Price Match Guarantee which means we will match any competitors price as long as the materials are apples to apples. Thank you!

I'm updating this to 4 stars based on Trevor's response to my text. They have missed a lot of business in my neighborhood because the gentleman who met me did not respond. That is why I contacted Trevor. It did not make my issues go away but I was comfortable after chatting with him that he may have been unaware of some of the things that took place with the other person who did okay but is no longer with the company only after a few months.This was hard to write--I actually chose this company because I'm a retired Marine and most of their reviews on different forums were positive. They were decent enough and I had an extensive write-up, I chose not to use that was actually glowing (which is how I felt once they showed up and started working 2 hours late), suitable for an 'Outstanding' MC fitness report. However, their non-responsiveness to a client after the job has been completed to address concerns, leaves me to believe I will have the same issues if something were to happen that should be covered in the warranty.Therefore my review is:they showed up, completed the job and they were out. And since being fair is what I'm about, I won't mention the other issues that came up before I hired them. Because I did hire them and their roofers worked very hard, and I appreciate them. But would I recommend them, NO COMMENT. Unfortunately you will have to unpack that for yourselves based on my write-up and others.Semper Fidelis should be the company's ethos not just their name.Good luck with your project if you hire them.

Our experience with Semper Fi Exteriors was a great one. We purchased a home this summer and all windows were original, single pane windows. We received quotes from 3 different companies, and decided to go with Semper Fi Exteriors as their price was fair, the owner, Nick, took such time in his consult and after to answer any questions. Nick even came back out to our home after the windows were ordered to allow me to pick a different trim color than I originally decided upon. The day of the window installation, the project manager, Ben, was out throughout the day to check on the progress of the installation. The crew was so quick and efficient with the installation, they were done in one day. And cleaned up after so well, also cleaned the windows! I would highly recommend Semper Fi Exteriors and would definitely use them again in the future.

They redid our windows, we have a colonial style house with 19 windows that were original to the house and were at the end of their life. We also had some rotting wood around the kitchen windows they replaced and covered/sealed. Overall they werent the cheapest option, but we wanted lasting solutions and not quick fixes. Despite a six week wait for the windows to be built, they stayed in contact and gave regular updates. The day of installation their crews showed up when promised did their best to not make a mess, but they were replacing 19 windows so there was some dust. At the end of the day, the house was clean and the windows were installed. Really appreciated that supervisors were on site to check on progress and followed up later to make sure all windows functioned properly. I will likely need more work done in the future and they will be at the top of my list to contact again.
