Since I have been acquainted with Step Above, David Anderson has completed several jobs for me in Woodbridge, VA. He replaced my roof, front door, and recently rehung one of my shutters. When I first met him, I really appreciated the full itemized estimate that he provided in triplicate. The work was absolutely outstanding and completed in a timely, professional manner. I thought the price was fair too. I also appreciate that no job is too small. Recently I called to have one of my second story shutters rehung, and he came out right away before a holiday weekend. A very professional, reliable, and honest company, and the first home improvement contractor I think to call when I need any work done on my house.

Well, I called to have some siding repaired from a storm and set up an appointment for an estimate and he "no showed" me, no phone call, no nothing. So I guess I won't be working with this guy.

We are very sorry as you are aware last week we recieved quite a bit of rain. On Thursday of last week when we were scheduled to meet, David was in the middle of responding to a "New Client" who was experiencing a " new water leak" The phone number you provided us with.....which is also part of a business you operate is not working properly. David did call you to reschedule that afternoon and he left a message on your "personal area" of your message service. He explained and asked to reschedule your estimate, asking you to call the office with a time that would be good for you next week? I am sorry for the confussion. If we would have been aware that you had not recieved the message. Either David or myself would have tried again to contact you. I became aware of this, by checking my account on thumbtack and reading your review. I also see that you have also relisted your work on thumbtack. We would like to reschedule for the estimate and we again appologize for your inconvenience last week. I believe David left the message as soon as he pressed the option to speak to your personal area, and did not hear it say to "enter your pass code". I am sure he was working in the rain when he was attempting to leave you a message and probably was in a hurry. Please accept our appology. Sincerely, Betty and David Anderson.

I Highly recommend A Step Above for any home improvement projects.
When I started searching for contractors to assess the scope of work for my project, I was very particular about who I spoke with. David did an excellent job, they installed the new windows immediately after they arrived from the factory, the fastest I had any replacements windows in. Skylights were water and wind tight and have weathered very well. He also matched perfectly the asphalt roof shingles so you can tell at all that the sky lights had been replace recently, seamless!

I contacted David to get an estimate to replace three vent pipe boots. Not only did he meet with me the same afternoon for an estimate but brought the parts needed to make the repairs right then and there. His professionalism and work are outstanding. He corrected some issues that the original contractor had made. He had the repairs made in short order.
I enjoyed meeting and talking with David. In fact, I have already asked him for a quote on another project.
