Introduction: I have a thorough understanding of K-12 mathematics, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics. I enjoy helping an individual to better understand mathematics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I am only meeting remotely. Since there is no travel involved, I have lowered my pricing by approximately 33%. For example, in person SAT prep has a rate of $60 per hour. When meeting via FaceTime or Zoom, the rate is only $40 per hour. I will continue to offer this option to my local clients once the COVID-19 is no longer an issue.

Miaya gets the most possible from our meetings because she is prepared with questions about the concepts that she is not 100% sure about. We do not waste time reviewing the concepts that she has mastered. Instead, we focus in the areas where she needs more thorough knowledge.

Bill worked with our 5th grader who was falling behind in math. He instantly built rapport with our daughter and helped her to build confidence through weekly Zoom sessions, focusing on match concepts like fractions, geometry, decimals, and PEMDAS. As a result of Bill’s help, our daughter raised her math grade 25 points to an A and her overall focus improved as well. It has been an incredible transformation. Bill Powell is a fabulous math tutor. My daughter failed her first Precalculus exam and Bill helped her to understand the material better. Her grade and test scores are now in the A/B range. My daughter really enjoys working with him because he is funny, relaxed, and involves her in the process (not just lecturing). Bill is also very flexible and with short term notice, he spent extra sessions to help her prepare for her midterm. We plan to also use his talents to help our daughter prepare for the SAT. Bill Powell is a definite must for students who are struggling with math.

Mr. Bill Pow is an excellent teacher. He was able to pinpoint the area of weakness in Calculus my 11th grade daughter had and he was able to help her achieve A grade in Math. My daughter says he makes it simpler, easier to understand and he makes learning Math fun and his classes are not boring. We are very happy to have him as a tutor for my daughter.

I have very much enjoyed working with Jane (name changed to protect privacy) since August. She is excelling with her AP Calculus AB course because she comes to each session well prepared to learn. Occasionally, Jane needs to ask a question (usually for clarification) about a procedure or the "best" way to approach the solution to a problem. Recently, we have been preparing for the SAT. We are reviewing problems that Jane found on the internet which are actual problems that have appeared on an SAT exam in the past. This is my preferred method of helping a student to prepare for either the SAT or ACT.

I charge clients by the hour. If you wish to commit to 10 or more hours of services, then I will apply a 10% discount.
