FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly learning. Watching videos and understanding new techniques by those that I admire is always on-going. It's easy to get in a rut, and I am often humbled by the work of my peers and will often emulate the aspects of those that I really respect.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I finally decided to follow my passion. I had been working for catalog and magazine companies for years and was an avid hobbyist, and eventually my professional and personal pursuits began to combine and was getting some really positive feedback about my images and decided to go for it. I have never looked back, and can't imagine working for anyone other than myself (and my clients of course) again.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Get to know the personality of the photographer. Someone can have an impressive portfolio, but if they show up with a poor attitude, or think that your event or product shoot is all about them and their ego, beware. Engagement shoots is a great way to see if the chemistry is right.
