Introduction: Gary Yost and his daughter Crissy started Layne Plumbing & Water Heaters in 2017. Gary was a journeyman in local 32 and had many customers that always called him for side jobs. He was well known for his strong work ethic and always getting the job done. He gained so much side work that he decided it was time to make his dream come true and build his family business. In January, 2022, Gary was diagnosed with end stage IPF and end stage emphysema. Gary was getting ready for work one morning, tying his shoes when his lung suddenly collapsed, and he was hospitalized for months waiting patiently for a double lung transplant. His team of employee's (close friends and family) came together, stronger then ever and worked hard to keep everything moving along as normal. Gary's brother who is also a journeyman plumber and nephew traveled 12 hours every week from eastern Washington to help run the company while Gary focused on his health in the hospital. His son in law Brandan started working for LPWH as well, leading the service department and his daughters also took on many new responsibilities for the company while also caring for Gary in the hospital full time. April 27th, 2022. Gary received a beautiful gift of 2 new healthy lungs. Since then, he strives every day to walk every job, meet every customer and keep his business his top priority along with his health, while also enjoying the little things in life. Gary still has the same wonderful team that helped him during the hard times and our bond as friends, family and teammates here at Layne Plumbing & Water Heaters is stronger than ever! Layne plumbing & water heaters is truly family owned and operated. That will never change.
