Teresa is kind, caring, and an excellent teacher. She has taught my son to love to read, and he thoroughly enjoys the tutoring sessions with her. She is patient and makes learning fun! I am so thankful we hired her and my kids look forward to tutoring each session!

My 4 years old daughter enjoyed her lessons a lot. Tesesa was always well prepared the teaching materials. She kept a very good relationship with the students and the parents, willing to listen and communicate. She is a teacher full of patience and compassion, and her ways of teaching children are very helpful and easy to understand. She is a wonderful teacher! I highly recommend for Young Readers tutoring service!

She is perfect fit to my son. She is very patient and good at observing his needs in every session. My son has ADHD, so sometime his performance is not there. But by the end of session, he managed to finish study. She knows how to take care of persons feeling. My son who is defiance is showing full respect to her. I also appreciate her ideas of learning topics. As an example, they worked writing an opinion to city about what my son has interested in. It is not like the way typical school is doing. She is definitely good at finding what's my son's curiosity.
She has genuine care for us too. We are very happy to find her for our tutor.

Ms Teresa is a very kind and gentle person and meets the child where they are at. My daughter loves being with her. She teaches the reading and math really well and makes sure the child is happy with the learning. Overall, she is a caring, good person that I would like to keep in my child's life for any tutoring needs.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Details:
My first meeting and assessment of the student is complementary.
My hourly fee is $45.00 with a 10% discount when 10 sessions are prepaid together.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet the student and parent to assess what is the best way to help. I try to understand the person's learning style. Then we set up a plan of how often we will meet and what approach I will use. The local libraries are excellent places to meet. We can book tutoring rooms. I also come to client homes. I do not charge for our first meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Education degree and I am a certified early childhood (3-6 years old) and elementary (6-12 years old) Montessori educator. I have also held a conditional WA State Teaching Certificate for teaching in elementary classrooms. I have worked in Montessori for 20 years and also home schooled my own 6 children for a number of years. I have taken Spalding phonics training and used it extensively while teaching.
