Hired on Thumbtack

My husband and I just bought a new house. We knew there were a lot of electrical issues and we're worried about finding a good electrician and price. I found Chris on Thumbtack and he responded to my request same day. We quoted me 450 to 500 and arrived promptly on agreed time. He completed the wiring of the garage, fixed the code issues on the breaker box from the previous owners, installed a 220 volt outlet for our electric cars, and fixed lights and switches throughout the house. He even offered to bring over coffee in the morning. To top it off the whole job ended up costing 100 less than originally thought. I will request his services when needed in the future and recommend him to others. Thank you for the great work.

This "pro" posted a website link that does not work because he really doesn't have a website. He also had no business card or vehicle identification so he honestly could have been anybody! His appearance was disheveled, unshaven and he was sporting some serious body odor. He was called out to look at a ceiling fan located only feet from the front door, but he insisted on looking at the whole house, opening cabinets, closets, even looking in my garage! It was kind of creepy. He had no answer for me on the ceiling fan but wanted to know what I did for a living and what I could do to help him. He would not leave, just lingered at the front door. He was supposed to write me an estimate and he didn't do that either. I looked him up on L&I website and he is NOT a licensed electrician. BBB had no record of him either. I don't know who is he but homeowner beware. This was a scary dude.

I usually don't respond to reviews like this one cause the rest of my reviews speak for them selves. But I can't let Cindy talk about me this way. The real story goes as noted. I was called to look at a ventilation fan in the laundry room Located Upstairs and a Ceiling fan in the living room, She brought me upstairs to look at it and it was working fine and I told her there is usually a timer in the garage that overrides this timer, so we went to the garage so i could point it out, we couldn't find it in the garage so I asked if i could look in the closet cause sometimes we would install them in a closet but I figured out the HVAC controls it, she then asked me about a first alert speaker in her garage and I said it was a moisture detector that makes noise when a sensor- senses moisture, so then i was trying to find the sensor and that was located on the hot water tank and they usually put them under sinks also, After that task we then looked at the living room Ceiling Fan and was very easy to notice that the fixture itself was broke cause the switch on the fan it self wasn't clicking, Cindy takes me into a bedroom where the same ceiling fan is also installed to listen for a click on that particular fan after she heard the click she then asked me what a box was on the ceiling in that bedroom closet and i told her it was the transformer for her door bell, At no time was I going through her things or lingering like she mentioned, No Money was exchanged, and I answered several questions before i left. I'm not sure what Cindy was upset about. My attire was more then adequate My license is sufficient as noted on the LNI website listed below, She must of been having a bad day or upset with contractors like she mentioned cause I showed up 15 min early cause apparently that never happen in her past experience. To top it off I didn't even charge her for the visit!!!. I hope this clears any confusion or questions anybody has with Cindy's review. We hired Chris to do a lot of electrical rewiring when we remodeled our kitchen (add new outlet for fridge, microwave, under cabinet lights, can lights, outlet for laundry/dryer upstairs/downstairs, electric range/fridge/microwave downstairs, move light switch, etc). They were on time, professional and quoted lower (reasonable price) than anybody else. The only hiccup was the delay in getting a permit/inspection which kinda set us back for a couple of days off schedule -- even then he didn't get mad at me when I got upset over this. We would definitely recommend him to friends (we already recommended him to a friend but Chris is busy for 2 months apparently) and would hire him again.
