Hi! I’m Mel and I love everything about photography… from taking photos to editing and meeting new people. I’m an aerospace engineer and I have several years of experience as a freelance photographer. I have also worked in events and I love working with big groups but my true passion is portrait photography. It truly gives me joy helping people capture precious moments that they can treasure forever. Every person, every family, every couple, every dog is unique and my job is to make sure that those differences are celebrated through your photos. Mel took photos for a special surprise visit I made to Seattle for my long distance boyfriend’s birthday- she went out of her way to help plan the surprise and took really beautiful pictures for us :)) she made us feel very comfortable and gave us a lot of pictures for a great value price!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know my customer before the photoshoot. This is usually done by grabbing coffee before the photoshoot or filling out questionnaires. It’s very important to me to know what matters the most to my customers and what they’re all about.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took some photography classes in college but my background is engineering.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I asked my mom for a camera for Christmas and I got a job as an editor helping a photographer.
