FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is simple: a flat fee. I don't charge by the hour because funerals and weddings can start late and run late, and I can't imagine coming to you after being there longer than we initially agreed and asking for more money. If I need to travel more than 25 miles from my home in Kirkland, there will be a small fee to cover gas mileage and travel time.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am honored to play the bagpipes to help mark the big, memorable occasions in people's lives: weddings, memorial services, anniversaries, birthdays. I also regularly play for St. Patrick's Day parties, Memorial and Veterans Day, graduations, golf tournaments, fund raisers, school functions, church services, corporate events and many other occasions. When a client comes to me, hugs me and says "you're fulfilling one of dad's final wishes" it is very humbling. I feel very fortunate to be able to add something that touches people at a very deep level, simply by doing something I love to do--play the bagpipes. Please get in touch and we can talk about your plans and how I can help make your event even more special.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I've been a full time professional performing bagpiper since quitting my day job in 2007. I also teach the bagpipes to individuals and four local fire and police pipe bands. Because of this, my schedule is usually open to come and play your event on short notice. If I'm not available, I have some piping colleagues that I trust to do an excellent job for you. They are seasoned players who are very professional, play beautifully and dress properly for the occasion.
